When the truck was bone stock , it would do about 15 -16 psi. Then I did the 2 turns on the pump screw and turned the eccentric thing to 3 o'clock, put in a K&N, cut a big hole in the air filter box, put on the dynomax muffler. That really woke it up, 24 psi. Then i put on the 16cm housing, that may have helped the throttle response a bit, but the max boost dropped off to 22 psi. Over the last year since I did that, the performance has gotten mushy, not too often will it maintain over 17 psi. It seems that it may be pushing thru the converter an defueling without putting the power to the ground. So I got the DTT 89 converter, but that is not in yet.

Sounds like maybe I need to call Piers about some injectors and a turbo. Does anyone have their #?

I tow my 28' enclosed race car trailer with this, now I am also going to put an 11' camper on it and tow. What is the best injectors and turbo for that usage, but still get the good mileage when I am not using all the power?

I like to do everything myself, I don't want to send the trans to a shop. What should I do to the transmission while it is out?

Thanks for all the help. After hearing from you guys about this, I am getting enthused about upgrading the old beast!

Another thing to look at is your lift pump. I had one going south and I was loosing boost over a couple of months. I put a new one in and it was back to normal. At least it is something to look into. Here is the link to Piers's numbers. They will answer all of your questions.
