2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Will a bed / box from 3rd gen fit a 2nd gen?

I have a 2001 SB that I want to replace due to rust and dents. I have found it will be cheaper to buy a new than to fix this one. I seem to find a lot of 3rd gen beds and I want to know if they will bolt up. I am not worried so much about body lines. Also will my current tailgate work on a newer box?

Anybody tried or done this? Thanks. Looking for a white bed if anyone has one.
