Can I drop in a P-pumped 2nd gen engine into my 92 D-250. What changes would I have to make besides of course the throttle linkage?

I put an '02 motor in mine and it was suprisingly easy. The bracket that the fan bolts too was different. I had to use the one off the first gen motor. I also changed fittings on the power steering pump. First gen motor mounts are still fine at higher hp level. Throttle cable has to be changed, but is easy. You will need to buy a relay for the fuel shut off . The one on the p7100 is a bit more substantial.

That sounds good, my engine is still in good condition but I am thinking more power and I am thinking upgrading the engine and keeping the truck.

You will need a piston lift pump that puts out a higher pressure. The P7100 pump needs a higher supply pressure.

The lift pump should be on the "new" engine. You will need the relay's for the shut off valve from the donor truck. The shut off solaniod has two coils in it, 1 for "Run", 2nd for "Start". How that works is; the Start coil pulls the Shut off to Open, at about 30 - 50 Amps, then the Run coil holds it Open at about 5 amps. When you shut off the truck the run coil disengages, and a spring pulls the shut off to "closed", shuting down the engine. Moose00
