Ok well you probably think im nuts already by the title but.....

I tested this 5 times so far,
when my Duallie gets below 1/4 tank of fuel it will not shift out of first:confused:
I've tried manually and still a no go, fill the tank anywhere above 1/4 and its fine

Anyone ever hear of this??? Am I going insane?????

Soon to be Admitted,
Michael

Hmmmm...

The only thing I can think of which could possibly correlate between the level of fuel in the tank and transmission operation would be the difference in how the truck sits due to the weight.

Have you checked the transmission fluid level?

Have you changed the transmission fluid and filter? If so, when was this done?

Has the front band been adjusted?

Good luck,

John L.

Since the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) operates both the transmission and the fuel level gauge, I suppose there could be some sort of electrical problem with it.

Can you check for DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)? It's possible the PCM has stored a DTC even though the check engine light isn't on.

I think I'd be tempted to change the transmission fluid, filter, and adjust the bands before I considered replaced the PCM.

If you decide to replace the PCM, a refurbished unit can be purchased for $199 from Auto Computer Exchange.

Good luck and please keep us posted.
