My truck is old already.

I had a Dr's appointment today and the office is located directly beside the Dodge dealer where we have purchased all of our trucks over the years. The dealer had exactly 15 new vehicles on the lot, and only 2 of those were trucks. There were times in the past where the were 15 Cummins powered trucks there alone. I'd be shocked if he will still be in business a few months from now.

If Chrysler does end up going under, I believe that many of the lines will continue on. I'm sure that someone will purchase the Jeep line and I'd think the Ram and the mini Vans will continue on under some restructuring plan. I doubt if there would be much interest in their car lines.

will there be anyone in the agency left to service it - besides Obama...:-laf

LOL at Gary!

I was by TS&S in Bend a couple of times today, tons of vehicles on the lot, hopefully at least a few of them are moving.

I was in the KFC in Redmond later in the day and one of the owners was yakking on a radio ad, basically saying he could beat any price in the NW and then he gave his personal cell phone number. Times are definitely hard, but I hope Dodge (or at least Dodge trucks) survive along with a few good dealers to service them. Around here if TS&S closes we will have about a 3 hour drive in any direction to reach any other Dodge dealer.

I really hope so. When the 2010 pictures came out I was drowling. I totally plan on paying off the 2005 real quick here (a year early) and then start saving for a large downpayment on a 2010 as soon as they come out. I want a Crewcab dually in black fully loaded with all the towing goodies...

It might cost me a bathroom remodel (for the wife) but I hope to have one before the end of the year:-laf

I doubt they will ever be built, the Cummins engine is a work of art, but the Dodge truck is a piece of junk, I hate to say it but my guess Ford will come back strong with there new engine there going to use on the Super Duty, they really got hurt with that 6. 0 engine, I suspect they have learned, Dodge I think still hasn't got the picture.

I'd hang on to the 05. I don't believe you can get much better than that. Besides the 2010 is a new design and the bugs have to be worked out.

That way you can do your wife's bathroom remodel and keep her happy.

I do not agree with you on Dodge being a piece of junk. Both of my Dodge's have been excellent. On the other hand, prior to my 95 Dodge, I had an F250 Furd, which was junk from bumper to bumper with the engine (gas) being the worst part.

Are you a Ford owner?

Maybe, if you even own a Dodge, your Dodge is junk. May have something to do with the way it is used and serviced.

The one I own now and the previous two were outstanding, reliable, durable vehicles. My first one, an '01 HO/6 speed has 350,000 miles on it and still runs strong. My second, an '06 had 230,000 miles on it when I sold it. Both pulled heavy trailers for much of their service lives without one single breakdown or major repair.

If you want to brag about the Ferd StupidDuty maybe you should be on the DieselStop with the rest of the Stupid Ferd owners.

TDR is a Dodge forum.

Shucks Shelby - for us "Por Folk" over here in the John Day Area, we already have a 3 hour round trip to a Dodge dealer - hope yours stays open and well!

Keep me in mind next time you're over this way we'll do the lunch bit again! :)

My point wasn't to degrade Dodge, and glow on Ford, I now have a Dodge, not a Ford, I service this truck way beyond what most people do, it has 55000 miles, it looks like new, and drives like new. My complaint if I knew the Blend door, and related parts would fail, the U-Joints, the Ball Joints, the Tie Rod ends, bad seats, and the list goes on, I wouldn't have bought it. Dodge knows the short commings, they just would rather take a warrentee hit on a certain percentage, the engine and trans, and the rest of the driveline is great. My point is as a business, I doubt it will make it, Fiat doesn't want dodge trucks, they want a Dealer Network to market there cars, and some of the existing Chrysler products with there parts, it's that simple. The only company that has a chance of sticking it out is Ford, they were smart enough to see the train wreck 2 years ago, I hope Dodge sticks around, I like the new 2010 ! ton, but do the math, it doesn't look good, would you buy Chrysler stock, a bunch of it ?, I doubt it.

I have some Ford stock. Will you buy it from me for the 8. 50 a share I paid for it????????:-laf:-laf

Chrysler isnt going anywhere. GUARANTEED! What they need to do is not take anymore money from the government, file chapter 11, ditch the union (in my opinion, the UAW is one of the biggest reasons their all in the crapper now) and streamline the product line. Quit making "Sales Bank" vehicles, and only build whats ordered. Improve on everything (quality/engines/transmissions, etc) and ditch unneeded crap. The ONLY Jeeps they need are the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, and MAYBE the Liberty. The rest... gone. Make Chrysler back into what it used to be, the "Cadillac" (also what it used to be back in the day) of the Chrysler Group. Dodge would be the mainstream, everybody can buy one/Sporty/truck sector. And for Gods sake, KEEP the Viper. There was a point late last year whe everything was down, yet Viper sales were up 111%. This was right before they announced the plan to kill it.

The truck is already the best on the market. GMs are about the flimsiest things out there, and Fords reliability certainly is in question. I think the new 2010 is gonna be a big seller. Most people complain about the current interiors. Why? I dunno, nothin wrong with them. So now they have a nice car interior. Plus, obviously theres the Cummins. Just need to upgrade the 68rfe and theyre golden.

Just my opinion.....

Every Ford owner I know has there truck in the shop more then they get to drive them the daily joke is are you driving it or is it Broke again . You guy's will also love this one our local ford dealer well one of the service guy's had a Ford f250 6. 4 after a engine replace and several other thing's within the first 15000 iles he decided to get ford to buy it back well being a die hard ford guy he picked a ford f250 V10 started to Brag about how nice it was well couple week's ago he towed his enclosed trailer from here to the river with his Hog in it and cryed all the way there and back it got a whole 4. 5 mpg towing needless to say he's sorry he bought the v 10 now. as for ford's so called new motor if it's anything like the last 2 abortion's they won't be above water very long

The only reason I'm considering the 2010 is for the new and improved back seat space (I not sold on the 6. 7 yet??). I live with my wife and two daughters who **** and moan about not having enough space for,. . . . IPod, Purse, drink holders, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!!!!!!!!

I'm was hoping that the extra seat space in back would turn all the drama into WHITE-NOISE... ... .

I have a different opinion about Dodge's quality decisions. I think they build them good enough to hold up well for about 95% of their buyers and probably replace few parts under warranty. I've put 598,000 cumulative miles on three Dodge Rams and have NEVER replaced a blend door, u-joint, ball joint, tie rod end, or seat in any of the three.

My first Dodge, an '01, is owned by my son-in-law who keeps it around as a backup truck for his construction company and to pull an occasional big trailer. It has 350k on the odometer now and has still not had any of the parts you complain about replaced.

Please explain to those of us who are less well-informed than you about the smart moves made by Ford who was "smart enough to see the trainwreck coming two years ago. "

I think you'd be much happier if you gave your Dodge to some poor dumb Dodge owner, it's junk anyway, and go buy yourself another Ford. Buy some shares in Ford while your buying the Ford also.

This is why we are looking at the 2010's also. My almost 3 year old could use more room back there too.

And an opinion I agree with. If they'd do the things you suggest and, also, if the lending industry can or will begin loaning money for car and truck purchases again, and if the new socialist government does't put everyone in America on unemployment compensation, Chrysler may come back from the current problems.
