I have friends that work for 4 wheel parts and have warrantied alot of the mile marker winches ( great price though ). I have recently begun to sell the T-max brand of winches here at our trailer dealership, and have been impressed. No complaints as of yet and they have inexpensive wireless remotes. I also will be selling winch rope. It is safer than cable and just as strong. Of course care must be taken against abrasion with a rope. If you need to go with a warn and want to save money try the new magnum 9000. It is a off label winch from warn and much less money.

Are you saying the MileMarkers are not so reliable?

that is the word from my buddies, they are not impressed with the mile marker9000 or 8000 it is not from my personal experience with the product. Now heres a clue on their winches. Go look at the winches at Harbor freight then go take a look at the mile marker 9000. They look the same to me, in my opinion.

The guys at tmax told me that the milemarker 12,000 is made at the same factory as the t max. But the tmax is all roller bearings inside where the 12,000 is just bushings. I have also been told that milemarker did an add that show soldiers putting mile markers on their hummers in the desert. the ad said something like choice of the military. The word I got is that they might get sued over this. because the whole add was a mock up.

Well, I think the ad meant hydraulic winchs. And yes, humvees do have a milemarker hydraulic winch on some of them.

The milemarker winchs say "Made in china" right on them and the box both. They in almost every way identical to the harbor freight units sold. but for a person who wants a winch to look "cool" or who plans on using it once, it is probably an ok choice.

Are we talking about the Milemarker hydraulics or the electrics? I thought the hydraulics were outstanding winches...

-Ryan

YEah, the hydraulics are good. Ive only used one once. It was pretty nice. I'd still prefer a PTO, though.

the electrics are bad. We are talking about the electrics (i. e, E9000 E1200 or whatever they call them).

Oh! Okay, that jives better with what I was lead to believe. I've never seen any winch from any manufacturer of any kind being used. However, as a casual observer I didn't see much quality in the Milemarker electrics.

Admittedly, this is NOT an educated opinion.
