Don't have a solution, but I did start using the rain x additive (pink bottle) this stuff is awesome. Its like applying rain x everytime you use your windshield wiper fluid.

I am not sure what is causing your problem. Could it be caused by the change in airflow over your hood when you use your camper? Does it do the same thing when the camper is not on your truck?

It definetly sounds like turbulence. Instead of the air rushing over your hood and up the windshield, its rushing down from your camper blowing the spray forward. I dont know of any cures.

Ted, this is just a hunch but try removing your hood deflector. It might be enough lift to send most of the air up and into the front of the camper and back towards the front.

BOMBing needs teamwork.

Drop that screw driver!!!!!
I had the same problem with my visor and bug deflector. The fix is easy!!!
I noticed that our Dodge service vans had washers on the wiper arms. . HMMM... So I just went down to the dealer and bought 2 washer arm jets for an 89-92 Van. Then went out and got some small diameter, thin walled vacuum tubing to run up the wiper arms and small zip-tyes to clamp the tubing on. You will have to find vacuum connectors, plastic, from the original tubing to the smaller stuff. I left the original jets in place just to fill the holes in the hood.
The only thing you have to do to the washer jet is to file off a tiny knob on it that lines up on the van wiper arms. In this salty, sloppy weather it works great and more juice is getting on the windshield than on the hood!!!!
For the side windows I highly recommend Rain-X or Rain Away as this is your only view of the world behind you.
If you need pictures or a better description, drop me a line and I will get some photo's scanned. It's soo simple, you will be amazed.

Scott - took it off already, didn't help.

Jason - thanks, I think that'll be the answer. Only problem is in the newer trucks the jets are built into the plastic cowling under the hood, and they are flat, so it's like installing from scratch rather than simply attaching to current jet nipples.

in real cold weather I have ice problems that defrost can't keep up with. Anybody heard of
heated wipers?

Sorry Ted, I forgot about the huge change in trucks in 94.
I hope the same will work, the area of caution will be the width of the wiper arm on the newer truck vs. the vans. We have a 99 at work and the van so I can measure the widths before you go and buy the jets if you like.

Good thinking Jason, a true BOMB effect!

I'd like to hear back from you on the possible mods needed for the 2nd gen Ram.

I need BOMB shoes as I wiped out hard on the ice today. SPLAT

Sorry guys but my "wiper arm spray" won't work on the 94 and up trucks. . @#$*!!!. I got carried away with a tech tip I could share instead of take away without paying attention to the year of your truck.
The older wipers are side post mounted and the arm is 0. 2840" wide. The 99 in our shop is a mid mounted wiper with an arm width of 0. 3440". Now, I don't know about the newer vans but you could find one in a parking lot somewhere and take a look to see if there system has been upgraded like the trucks.
I wish I could be more help.
