Hey guys, picked up a 2003 truck the other day and been fixing some minor things on it. the wiper issue is something I haven't experienced before. The blades park about a quarter of the way up on glass, no intermittent function, and no hi speed. Just low speed. When running, they make the full stroke, from top to bottom, but park up at a quarter when switched off. At times, they do not function at all, if you shut ignition off, then they will go back to low-speed default. I have another wiper switch on a wrecked one out at farm, that will be my first thing, unless someone tells me otherwise. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated, thanks. Jim

Just read the post that Shorts did a while back, turns out the other switch i have is a different year and may not work. Too cold to spend the time taking it out. I will let you all know! Thanks. Jim.

Based on your description. more then likely wiper motor itself has dirty contacts inside its housing which are preventing it from "reading" where the wiper actual is in relation to the windshield.
Thanks, Seafish, Ill check into that. I took switch apart and cleaned contacts, but that didnt help. Jim.

Had the same problem on my 2006. Replaced the wiper motor with Napa unit. Have had the same problems with other vehicles. The "Park" function goes out. Replacing the wiper motor has solved it every time.

99% of the time it's either the motor or the switch. My truck was the 1% where it was actually the Power Distribution Center. For 2004, this has a relay that controls the wiper motor which had a bad connection. I took the PDC apart to see if I could fix it, but ended up buying a new one. The installation wasn't bad. This also fixed an intermittent AC problem I was experiencing. This is just a heads-up for anyone that has swapped out both the motor and the switch with no joy.
