It was my moose buggy that broke a steering knuckle and had to be left behind, we got it out the following weekend in much clolder conditions.

First of all Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm curious as to what kind of tracked vehicle was used to tow that one buggy out without getting stuck. Homemade or commercially bought?

Last question, when are u going to invite me up for a moose hunt. I'm tired of hunting small Texas Deer:D

tracked rig

It was a Thiokol Spryte that pulled me out. He was on relatively solid ground and I was in a clay pit. It took him half a dozen pretty healthy hits on the end of a jerk rope to finally drag my butt out of that hole.

I reckon there has to be a prima donna in every post so it might as well be me.

Picture of thumb down right here X

I know Alaska is a big mud hole, but it looks like you are tearing up some freaki'n countryside to me. Yep, I'm one of those light on the land, greenie, eco freaks who stopped by here just to rag on you and ruint you fun. And if I had any common sense and manners I'd just go else where, blah blah blah. :{ :{ :{ (Think that'll get up stirred up? Fire another shot across the bow, arrggh matie Oo. )

If you are really what you claim to be then why are you after a

pre EGR truck? If my fun gets "ruint" by uninformed opinions then

shame on me.

A "pre EGR" truck is perfectly legal here. In fact the "600" may turn out to be non-EGR anyway, i. e. they meet 04 air regs without an EGR system. My signiture was made when the heinous rumor was that the 04. 5 would have an EGR system. No hypocrisy here, dude.

"uniformed opinion", nah. Sorry,Gas, the pictures pretty much do the informing. I reckon if you want to "ruint" private land thats one thing. However, I'm willing to wager these, er. . good folks are "ruinting", e. g. hosing, public lands.

sorry

What is legal is not necessarily "Green".

Since Alaska is not covered with roads, access to property, mining

claims, hunting areas is more common on trails. These trails do

not have much in the way of improvements other than clearing

trees, this is legal access. If you were informed you would know

this.

Gus,

We should probably forgive his ignorance!

After all, he is from a state where there is virtually NO public land and what there is , is not usable by the general public, as it is surrounded by private land.

He calls Alaska a mudhole!!

If Wyoming received more than 2 inches of rain a year, it would be the worlds biggest mudpit, as it is all sand!!

He might of had the huge eyesore open pit coalmines in Wyoming in mind when he complained about the damage.

Just because its legal ... don't mean its right

Below are some excerpts from narrative:

"It was raining pretty heavy now, and alluded to some great wheeling ahead…. . the trail consisted of rutted up swamp…. Nobody has been here in a 4wd for at least 10 years…. hummm, wonder why? …. but other than that, the only users over the last several years had been during the winter…. Hunters…with track rigs, or 4wd Quads…we had a tracked rig headed up…The track rig towed…I like a good challange more than I hate the mud. This was definately a good challange

So I need to do more damage to the terrain that I already do? These trails are not on private property, and they are multi use. I crawl through everything I can, and save the skinny pedal for only when its necessary. Responsibility is the key to being able to use our trails in the future. "

Appears to me you know how to access this location by better means. From the tenor of your narrative, it sounds to me like you were doing it for the challenge, not for access.
