The REVOlution starts here.

Mechanical Fuel Pump

I can see my breath in the morning now here in Indiana. Which reminds me of one thing I used to like doing... weirdly enough... and that was to remove my fan from my 99 2500 and put the winter fronts on. Always did well to keep things toasty under the hood when it was cold. Except once when the temps spiked up to 70 and I had to remove the bottom row to make myself feel better. But the gauge seemed fine.

Anyhow... I liked the ones I had from the "basement enterprises" section of the classifieds by Ericbu12. View

Do you have any for 91. 5 - 93's? I have a first gen now. Thanks! I tried making some out of lexan once but they looked bad.

I used to make a 1st gen set. The one problem is, there is not enough room between the grille and the radiator and that makes the engine warm up too much. .

I THINK I might have a set left but not sure... Also they were hard to install. I will PM you later on about this

Cabela's front cover here as well as the screen. The screen has been on for about 7 years and looks great, no tears or holes. You can either use screws or plastic snaps with 3m adhesive to secure it to the grill. I used the snaps with the adhesive and NONE have fallen off.

i've got 2 pieces of coroplast blocking off my engine. . one piece is against the rad and is just a friction fit between the rad end tanks. i've got a second piece that blocks off the condenser and intercooler. it too is a friction fit. that one however i think i am going to mod and put some holes through it so the condenser can do its job making gas to liquid [or going to unplug a. c. compressor clutch]

I like to just stick a piece of carboard between the radiator and intercooler. If the engine ever gets above 190 i either move the cardboard or fold it to let it cool down.

This winter i plan on making a custom cut set of diamond plate grille covers that are able to be bolted on and off according to the temp.

Check this out. Cabela's -- Winter/Summer Truck Grille Covers

WOW. $55 and they have to have stick-ums on it. . They may be good and not fall off but I wouldn't get it.

My $35-$45 grille covers bolt right through the grille. Nothing to drill or stick on. . in the summer, you cant tell you had it on. . I am planning on making a bug screen in front of the radiator for my new '09 but it will be behind the grille. . Again, not seen or known you have it.

Nickelodian and Canfield007,

When you have a cardboard or other piece inbetween the radiator and the intercooler, the air in the intercooler does not get cooled as well. If the temps spike outside, you need to remove or whatever... . having a cover on the outside of the grille, allows your intercooler to function as it should. . the outside panels do restrict the airflow about 50%. . guestimating. . but you don't have to do a thing with it until the outside temps get above 70 deg... Since I don't tow during the winter, I leave my set on all winter and don't touch it.

I knew it wasnt good for it but i needed something to get my heater working faster. And those grille covers are the exact thing i was talking about but out of diamond plate.

You might look into a 190 degree thermostat from Cummins. That'll probably do more do get your heater blowing warm air then anything else.
