wire gauage (im not an electrical guru pt II)

What gauage wire should I use to run power/ground and dim to my Dakota Digitial FP gauge? Solid core or strainded? Again sorrry for the stupid questions.

16-18 is more than enough, the current draw is very low

Definitely use a good quality stranded wire. Solid wire will not stand up to the vibration.

DD suggested 16, but when I bought it, seemed a little overkill but I went with it anyway.
