How did you go about wiring your gauges? Did you use the painless wiring kit from Genos? I am only going to get a boost and a EGT gauge but I want to make it easy for accessories later on so I was thinking that painless wiring kit from Genos would work the best. I was going to get the one that has 7 igintion hot instead of 4 and 3 always hot. What does everyone else use?

Thanks,

Doug

Just use Fuse Taps

I just use fuse taps #5 for lights and number 17 for power. It easy and the leads would be long enough to install a painless kit later.

Doug,

Use #5 for lights so they will dim with your switch and you can get power from #17 in the meantime. Get one of the add-a-fuse circuits from pep boys or some other parts store. they work perfectly for this application. I do agree in buying the painless wiring kit. I have my CB, back up lights and gauges wired to it. I would recommend getting the unit that has some constantly hot and some ignition hot circuits. One circuit will power all of your gauges easily. That leaves two or three more to power "other" accessories with the ignition. Sometimes it is nice to have power with the key out, like my back up lights. Just my . 02

the wiring is usually supplied by the installer (you). just get some light (22 gauge i think I used) in several colors. red for power, black for ground and i use green to hook up to senders as in a fuel pressure gauge. you will also need spade connectors to hook up to the gauge (female spade to gauge). leave some slack if you mount them in the a-pillar so you can take the pillar off in the future without "pulling" on wires.
