I recently purchased a 2012 ST Ram 3500 Crew Cab. It is missing power seats, fog lights, some interior lights and some other items I wish it had. I can come across these items from my local dodge dealer or salvage yard. I was just curious if the the newer trucks already had the wiring harness in them for items I would like to have (courtsey lights, fog lights, power seats, etc.). I know my 2002 2nd gen had all the wiring harnesses all I had to do is order a light or something similar and maybe a short harness and plug it in. Any ideas?

The OEM harness are generally very specific as far as what connectors are included. Any more they do not want to include any more wiring (weight as wall as $) than they have to. To be sure you will need to look for the connectors in the area. You can find wiring info in the body builders guide.

Where do I find he body builder guide?

Go to rambodybuilder.com. Local tech. tells me it is designed to work best with Google. You may have to go into your computer settings (your personal computer) and lower the security settings. Really great site. All sorts of information in there.

Also if it does not have fog light's and what not you will have to get them turned on by Dealer . As the PCM will not see them until the dealer tell's it to.

Same goes for DRLs. They are not headlights but the parking/turn signal lights set to the high level used for the turn signals. They work pretty good but would rather have the headlights on reduced power.
