Rear Window Leak

The Vacuum Pump

I know some guys delete the eng mounted cooler, because of potential failure. This would mean coolant getting into the trans fluid.
Would this require a aux cooler to keep it cool?

No for heavens sake leave that heat exchanger where it needs to be.
It is a GREAT design and lasts for the lifetime of the vehicle if no hillbilly starts to mess around with it. If every work on it is STRICTLY followed the FSM it is good. If not, it fails. Like with many parts that aren't treated as designed.

THANK YOU! I agree, they use high quality components on these engines and trucks.

I keep finding differences (mostly improvements) between the 03 and 05. One I noticed tonight is the 05 frame is beefed up around the steering box.

Just to update my progress on this new (to me) truck, I found about 1/4" of play in the track link bushings, so replaced with polyurethane bushings. Huge improvements. Later in the week, I'll be replacing the sway bar links and checking the control arm bushings. I'll have it steering like new before long.

It already has the T style tie rod and drag link, new ball joints, and new PSC Motorsports steering box.

If you use the Thuren specs it will track better then new.

I personally don't like the PU stuff, I used it years ago and it was always squeaky no matter how much grease (Vaseline) I used on them.

Thanks! You would go with the original equipment bushings?

I just know years ago we had a 1977 F-350 dump truck that chewed out the radius arm bushings constantly on the driver's side. Replaced them with the original rubber and they'd last maybe a year. Went to the polyurethane and never had a problem. Something was probably out of whack or bent, but it lasted in that case.

Is that what you installed?.

Is Nolothane already they making plug n play bushings for our varioUs suspension parts?

Got links???
So far I’ve only installed new track bar bushings which are polyurethane. Work great and made a world of difference on my steering without the truck wanting to follow every imperfection in the road. I was considering the Nolothane for control arm bushings, but found out today my control arms are great and don’t need bushings. Here are the track bar bushings I bought. $16 on Amazon. https://a.co/d/73yn978

As time progresses, I learn more and more of the intricacies of my 05 compared to my 03, which I’ve had since new.
Today I discovered that the LED interior bulbs (in headliner) I installed in the 03 years ago will not work in the 05. The power is there, but they won’t light up. Stock bulbs work fine.

Try flipping them around since LED's are polarity sensitive in most cases. Otherwise you may need CAN-bus compatible bulbs.
