2002 Rally in south east Pa. Need thoughts

BOMB Party Success!

OK, Jeff. I'll check here on Sat. I'm hoping the weather people are wrong as usual. Of course, it's usually when they predict good weather that they're wrong. #ad

I will be there!!!

However, you guys were right. It's not worth risking life and truck for this. It can be rescheduled.
If we get there and it does become real nasty, anyone that lives west of Tomah is more than welcome to spend the night at Casa del Howlett, if they wish (we've got enough room for four and plenty O' parking).
As for an alternate date, the 3rd is out for me. The 4th may be a possibility.
I say we make the cut-off time for go, no-go Friday at 5:00. That way we should have a pretty good idea on the weather and it gives enough time for people to check emails and the TDR site.
What say you? If anyone needs to call me, (608)304-0399. Be patient, it's a new cellular service to the area and it works only in selected areas. If I don't answer, please leave me a message. You can also leave me a message at the link below. Use the tel# posted above.
I realy hope this works out. I will be so disappointed if it doesn't.

I agree, Aron. I'll be pretty disappointed if it's cancelled. I'm hoping to go even if it's only a few of us. Even if it gets postponed, I'd go this week and on the re-scheduled date. Of course, if the weather really goes bad, it might be best if we all stay home. I know Paul has a reservation to stay in WI on Sat night, so he really wants it to happen. Someone at work told me a foot is predicted for Minneapolis, so that would snow Paul in. I just hope the weather forecasters are wrong as usual, but it doesn't look good.

Dave

I will make my determination of go/no go after watching the 6PM weather Friday night. Wasn't suppose to snow this AM either, but it did. Was pretty slick for only a light dusting. The "99" needs tires and with new truck being here soon (yea right!), traction is limited right now.

I guess that waiting until after the 6:00 news would be a good idea. I will still be there.

I am kinda bummed though. I was hoping for some BOMBing runs. #ad
Oh, well. Save it for another day. #ad

I am still planning on making it. I just checked the weather for the Dells (including Tomah) area and rain is predicted more than snow with temps in the high 30's. Rain never sounded so good #ad

I'll keep checking email and this post for updates.

Paul

Everyone I've heard from that was a definite yes originally is going to try to make it - within reason. So it's still on. More updates tomorrow.

Get your reservations in early at Casa del Howlett! #ad

Just dropping a line to let you know that I still plan on attending. I will keep wishing for sunshine and sixties(yeah right) anyway. See ya guys there.

Eric

It's starting to look like the worst possible scenario. The forecast I just saw says snow tonight, freezing rain in the morning, rain in the afternoon, snow Sat. night. I'm still holding on to the hope that it may veer off of us and not be too bad. I'm thinking it'll be tomorrow morning before I know if it will be driveable. If it is, I will be there.

sorry guys,
I have a funeral this weekend. I hope you guys have a safe drive and good meeting. Let me know next time. Cory (outlawram)

Sorry to hear it, Cory. We'll keep you posted on the next one.

Here's the latest weather statement. Maybe it'll just be rain by later in the morning in the Tomah area. Also, the farther south, maybe the worse it will be? For me, it'll come down to how icy it is and if the visibility is bad.

I suppose if we were smart, we'd just call it off. But I guess I've never been accused of that. #ad
I'm going to wait until the last moment before I throw in the towel. If no one can make it, or just a few, I'd still do it again in March.

Dave

Hopefully the weather is good. I have a proposal to float for a get together in NE Iowa, complete with dyno. The owner of the dyno has agreed to host. We can talk specifics tomorrow, if the weather isn't too nasty! Hope to meet you all then.

Looks like I'll be enjoying a full blown blizzard this weekend. Not the one from the Dairy Queen though. You guys take it easy this week.
Speeking of dyno. I almost forgot. There is a Dyno jet chassis dyno in Winsted MN. If any interest I could ask him for a possible meet there someday. . The guy who has it is big into truck & tractor pulls. Only problem he's out pulling during the weekend during the summer months.

Jeez Jeff, that's perfect! We won't be in his way! #ad

Seriously, a hard number would be an awful thing. It will have to be improved on!

I would really like to do that. A dyno would be a dream come true. Keep us informed by any means possible.
Again, I want to reinforce the point that if tomorrow gets nasty, I do have room. Also, because I am so close, I will be there. Call me if you don't plan on making it, or if you do plan on making it. Hope you guys drive safe. And by all means don't do anything rash or stupid. We're smarter than the regular drivers. That's already been proven by what we chose to drive. See ya tomorrow.

Later,
Aron
