John I think having a oil filter two fuel filters air filter at my disposal is a good Hope I’m wrong but very strange things are going on now in the country Anything else ? Later I will get a new serpentine double alternators gates and carry the old for a spare coil up stashed someplace under the hood . I’m about to make a Genos order

Things are, in fact, crazy right now. Geno's Garage tries to quote actual USPS rates, and right now, shipping into Alaksa/Hawaii is particularly expensive. Shipping could be 33% on SOME orders. Additionally, this week the USPS put some new surcharges into place. The folks at Geno's Garage will quote shipping (and discount if they can) on an order if the online rate seems out of line. The software has to "anticipate" the size box an order is shipping in, and sometimes it "anticipates" incorrectly. In the old days, weight was the most important factor in shipping costs. Today, it is volume. So the size of the box really matters. The staff can make adjustments when needed. Never hesitate to give them a call. Hope this helps.

In my dealer days (1996-2004) we had two big bulk tanks, one full of whatever the OEM recommended 'car' oil was, and one of whatever the OEM recommended 'truck' oil was, plumbed into air pumps that fed reels hanging throughout the shop. More exotic oils, we fed via individual jugs that we got from the parts dept, of whatever flavor the manual called for.

The nefarious-ness of dealers is often hyperbole'd through interwebz legends and tales.

At my old dealer got to know the service manager, he told me that they use standard API bulk oil for everything except warranty work, for warranty they used what ever FCA told them had to use, that oil was kept in branded 55 gallon barrels..

Trust me when I tell you that the oil used for non-warranty work was the lowest priced product that could be found in that local. Now, that does not mean that it did not meet the API specification. Was it approved?

Can’t speak for Chrysler dealerships but my career in dealerships was spent with FoMoCo, GM, Toyota, and Kenworth.

We used OEM in bulk, and more exotic oils in either gallon or quart jugs. We did have Mobil 1 in 55 gallon drums for the Corvettes and others.

We did warranty LOFs, Red Carpet Lease LOFs, prepaid maintenance contract LOFs, and customer pay LOFs on both OEM and non OEM out of the same stock. There was no room for nor time for cheap vs warranty required. Everything got the OEM oil.

I signed off personally on the receipts from the distributor. We got what we were required to have to fly the OEM flag.
