Folks,
I have a 2004. 5 Ram with the 310 HP 5. 9 and a 6 SPEED TRANS.
Yesterday it began to run poorly just as I got home. I believe it has a fuel system problem. Filter looks fine. There are no problems reported by the OBP port.
Engine cranks but generally won't start. Ocasionally it will start but only for about 30 seconds and then it dies. It sounds like it is running out of fuel. I have opened the fuel filter drain and it is barely draining anything.
I have inspected the fuel system and it does not appear to have a lift pump.
Is this correct or is there one in the tank or filter assy?
I have looked at every part of the fuel rail and cannot
seem to figure out where to connect a temporary fuel presure gauge.
Can anyone provide instructions.
Plan to take another stab at it tonight then send it to the dealer tomorow.
I have planed to purchase a FASS pump but would like to get it runing first.
Any sugestions?
I am panicked as we have planned to Vegas next week for the Mopars at the Strip event and need the truck to tow my hot rod.
