After searching and searching, I finally found a nice sweet old 1st Gen! Oo. I got a cheap flight to Chicago, rented a car, and drove to MI to look at it this weekend. It's a 92, Club Cab, 2X4, auto. with only 135K miles. I am going back in 2 weeks to pick it up. The truck belonged to an elderly genteman who passed away and I bought it from his son. After I get her home, I need to do the KDP, and gauges. Can't wait!!! Nothing like the music of a nice old 12 valver ;)

I like it, but to get the full effect, you need two of them. Everybody knows stereo is much better! I am happy for you, post some photos and keep us up to date! Glen

Thats great. I'm happy for you. The only thing diesel powered I have driven in nearly five months is a school bus. I sorta forget what the First gens are like. Let me know will yah!

BTW it be true. You'll need two. For now my two are serving as lawn decorations untill the rain washes away four inches of road salt from the pavement.

Greenleaf aka Scott's evil twin.

People always come back to the basics or in this case the most reliable and cheapest to maintain truck ever built, your wallet will thank you for the years you own it. :)

faithfull one.

i bought my first diesel in 1990 and that truck was a 89 single -cab long bed 2-tone blue . this truck has 291,000 miles and still going strong. i had the turbo, injection pump, and a/c compressor changed. the next is a paint-job and i will have a new truck again. i would not trade or sell this truck at all. my son is all ways asking when will it be my turn. i know his plan pump 500hp in it. i only added 30-40 guess never dynoed. i draged a 98 chevy 305 votec he only left me 2 trucks-lenghts 1/4 mile. Oo. Oo.

I completely understand, and agree with your love for 12-valve music. I have owned a 95,96, and missed the loved sound after buying a new 01. Then I traded it in on a new 04. 5. Six months ago I bought a 93 to supplement my new one, but basically I bought it to hear my favorite sound of all- 12valve rattle.

Congrats. I'm excited too. Mine was owned by an elderly couple. Original owners since 1993 new. Used it to tow some. Has 130K miles and they :D put guages on it but no engine mods. I'm happy as a clam as I can tell they took care of it. Illness caused sale of truck. I'm going to give it a good home.
