Competition Great MPEG

Competition My New Turbo....

Fast, but where are you?

I just spent most of an hour searching the NHRA event website looking for this great run. I found your name and number 461. It lists you in Super Street class. Then I searched the results for all days and there is no mention of you making a pass anywhere.

Please, what am I missing?

The record run was accomplished just prier to the final round. NHRA ask me to do a exhibition run on Sunday . I raced S/ST on Friday and did my best but lost first round. NHRA considered me for best engineering award but I lost to Ashley Force in a tight vote. After the huge reaction from the fans NHRA ask if I wanted to lead the Sunday final round off with a exhibition pass, it was wild after, we could not get in to our pit space for the fans . NHRA and diesels have been introduced , and it looks like its a hit

That's a sweet pass.

Some people around these parts are still going to think you're a bit of a jackass, though. No matter how fast you go.

Turn the ego down a few notches, dude.

Matt

Greg, good to hear that number..... yea you know I'd like to have been there, has to be a Vid of it so that I will wait for... ... 8's in a truck with a diesel motor... ... were are we going too.

As much as I may agree with your post Matt, I'd have to say If I built a truck that could turn that time I'd have an ego big enough you all could call me anything you want.

Way to go COMP! The jealous ones will just have to accept a new kid on the block.

I agree... but only to a certain extent. For example: John Force may be a good drag racer... but his attitude/ego gets in the way at times. You can only take so much of it...

Matt

Now that is going down the track very quickly. More like flying. Good job.

David told me about your phone call. Said you were not really a jerk. Just very confident. Any way, just be more of a politician and keep flying. No, don't do that. The politics part. Just calm down a little and go fast.

. . Preston. .

That is a great time and it is great to see that a diesel can do that. But it seems like you are so high on yourself its good to be confident to an extent also I dont consider your dragster a dodge or truck for that matter at all it is fabricated machine come bring it out on the street for everyday driving. I could take a freaking semi tear it down weld a frame throw a fiberglass shell on it and do the same thing. You have not done anything special I would rather watch Rhonda,Hoss,Jim or fletcher run 10's or 11's in something they drive everyday or tow with then an 8 second trailertrophy so you get on here saying your so fast well you are comparing a leer jet to a helicopter. I dont know you but from reading other post sorry COMP461 you just annoy me just the way I feel

Guys ease up a bit :-{}

He has not posted anything on this thread other than the run he made. No over the top boasting or ego trips.

Give the guy a chance will ya? I for one am glad to see any mainstream crowds being introduced to diesel. Just because his first few posts were a little large does not mean he needs to be run down for every post he makes.

An 8. 72 is a great acheivment no matter how you look at it. :D

Although I do appreciate your comment and point of view :) , I'd gladly put a hitch on the Pavement Princess if I had an 8 second diesel-powered rig to tow behind her. I'd just have to run in two classes... :D

Comp, I would love to see a video of this run (or any similar run), and a pic of the truck. I have not followed any other threads about it, but thought I saw a pic. What I like the most is that you're running at NHRA events, not just hitting the local 1/8 mile or diesel-specific events. I think that's the best way to draw attention and respect in the racing world as a whole.

Greg, great work. Welcome to the 8's.

I think that there are a few people out there that are more anxious than ever to try to catch you. You have now run faster / quicker than our dragster and you are a bit heavier and pushing more air than us. We have a new setup that we have not tested that should make a ton more power and RPM.

BUT! You have the lead on us and the other tube cars / trucks! (for now!)

I hear that one of the tube truck boys is getting ready to try it again... ...

Thanks Scott and every one else . I know that the competition is there and I am working every day to continue this quest . I am totally confident that in a year You and I will both putting up 7 second passes
