I wasn't bashing him, just saying it needs to be running a lot faster with the weight he has. Granted he wasn't runing at his full potential since he was just getting it "tuned in". But with his combo and weight he should easily be running were he projects to be. I don't want people to talk say"did you see how fast he made that diesel go?" I want them to say "did you see him take out that Top Fuel dragster?":D I am all for anything that is fast, diesel and has forced induction. However for a truck to be that light and running 9's(which I agree is extremely fast and sweet) it is probably producing the same power we have in some of the daily drivers around here.



My hats are off to you for leading the way into the future. Don't take it the wrong way. I just want to see how it does at it's full potential. I think we need to get a few more running in the Comp class.



Just dropping the Dr P sticker will probably get it into the 8's :D
 
sbrandon... ..... I DO NOT have a problem with a fast truck. I want the diesel world to take over. Whoever goes the fastest more power to him. Others, just have to through more money at it and work harder. I am old school South. Down here,nobody has ever been looked upon with much respect when he has to toot his own horn. Maybe where you're from that's just a way of life. I guess modern day football, look at me attitude has invaded our sport. A real shame. Enjoy yours. I will mine.

Guys my whole intent on posting was not to cheer my self on, but that in the past month a few people have proclaimed the Edge truck the Be All To End All, and its started to get deeper and deeper, and the ideal that no one else even came close, was getting under my skin. I’ve worked hard to get this truck to the point where it is now, and it is true that there are many street trucks that have more hp then I’m currently choosing to run, this is because in any racing project you sneak up on the side of caution. In the case of diesel’s it’s very easy to move a fuel plate of change the spring in an anaroid, or step up the pump timing. I have several different pumps and injectors, to choose from, but why start with something that is at the extreme. My plan is to apply PROCESS ENGINEERING to this and slowly work this out, system by system.
 
Sweet Comp. I was just wonderin where you were runnin at. Hopefully I will be down in Texas soon to see the parents and could get a chance to see this thing run. Good luck w/ everything.
 
Get some balls and put it to the extreme. If it doesn't take ether to start it, you made a mistake somewhere along the line. All you guys that are congratulating this guy have obviously never seen his posts on www.alldieselmotorsports.com This guy is a joke. Comp please don't act like you are a pioneer at diesel racing or power making. Your not.

it's not so much you that people have a problem with, it's who your getting your $$ from.



dr p has lied to and screwed so many people that you have a very tough road ahead of yourself. there are two guys that live about 90 miles north of me that have another dr p truck and they say you are a nice guy, so i will believe them you just need to back off a bit.



when the edge truck makes some full blown runs i'm sure everyone will know what it runs. kieth is not a pro driver and he is just getting used the the truck himself.

Some people don’t, have a vision of the future, it involves racing in front of real crowds, “read sponsor money” of fans that are hungry for something different. NHRA is that place. The average attendance to a national event is well over 100,000 + these fans are for the most part truck people, and a lot choose diesel power for the fuel efficiency. Now that diesel offers power in excess of most gas trucks with double the fuel economy, the public is going diesel crazy. In this day of uncertain oil supply and potential prices that or out of you worst nightmare, the ideal of a fuel efficient and clean burning alternative to small, slow, and ugly econo boxes, is very appealing. I have been on the dyno with some Volkswagen TDI ‘s and the number this little motor puts out is incredible with 50 + MPG. The Mercedes and soon to be Chrysler car with turbo diesels, and diesel hybrids will be the next generations 57 Chevy or 69 camaro for hot rodders. The advent of BIO DIESEL as a renewable energy source, that is dramatically cleaner, will fuel legislation to allow diesels more freedom, thereby letting the average guy or girl in Ronda’s case express them selves in their vehicles. I am pushing for classes in NHRA for diesel-powered entry’s, not just in the super category we now are allowed to run, but also in the super stock ranks where the go as fast as you can ideal is in effect. I then want to take diesel to competition eliminator where the innovation is only as limited as you imagination or you wallet. For the most part diesel sanction body, are mistakenly fearful of NHRA, giving diesel racers a place to run in front of massive crowds, Fearing loosing the base they have built up. I believe that as in THE GOOD GUYS SERIES where A/nostalgic dragster came from in compaction eliminator 4 years ago, it only expanded the number of quality cars and actually raised the average attendance of their secondary sanction bodies events. It will give more people an incentive to build expensive race truck, where they still will race them in the diesel only races. The train is coming and its diesel, get on, get off or get off the tracks.





In addition, who says I don’t use ether. :)
 
Vision of the future?? You are a Johnny-come -lately in the Diesel field, racing or otherwise.

You are just catching up to the rest of us.



Personally, I'd bet the TDR has made more Diesel converts already, than a tupperweared Diesel race truck can ever hope to, NHRA crowds, or not.



People cannot relate your drag truck to whats in the showroom. It is a novelty to them, nothing more.



Now, if you were running a stock frame/body, you'd have a chance, at doing what you think you are doing.

All I can say is thanks to all the people out there that work hard at doing what they say can't be done. The advances in every type of truck/car/bike/boat exc. come from racing and competition type sports. If there was no sport we would all be driving the same car/truck with the factory power and nothing more. So please keep pushing the limits. :cool:
 
lay off! this guy is promoting diesel and backing it up with good numbers. i cheer you on! why dont you ego maniacs who have to have the fastest deisel in town go somewhere else. some of you sound like baby's saying..... only on diesel... ... how much does it weigh. while these are all impotant questions it does not take anything way from this guys who is in touch and helping to promote diesel power. let me ask you guys some questions... ... why not ask... . oem injectors..... oem transmission etc... . single turbo... . The bottom line is who ever runs the fastest quarter mile is what i will quote to those i am trying to impress and so should you. numbers impress those who are ignorant gassers and this is the crowd we are trying to get to come on over to deisels. . right?!. so please, someone take a 5. 9 cummins run a 7 in the quater mile and i will say you are the man. i think alot of you need a serious attitude ajustment b/c you sound like baby's. dr. p may have lied cheated and stolen from you but that doesnt give you a place to chop this guy down. most people who try to do this type of thing have big ego's. so if he wants to brag it only comes with this type of person and so does "player hating". smoke on!
 
I could never be positive with him becouse of who sponsers him. Any advertisement for dr p will just give him the abilty to take advantage of more people. Many newbees will see that name and know no better. Then look at the black eye diesel motersports will have. His money to have fun and race is coming from people like us being riped off.
