This is why some more advanced diesel guru's choose not to become TDR members. Seems like if one already knows how to change his oil and injectors, he's not welcome to the TDR. Welcome to the TDR COMP461, and keep promoting our sport.

You guys putting people down for not liking Comp need to do a search on every post he has contributed to. Your making fools out of yourselves to everyone that has heard his song and dance before.

It running in the 9's at over 135+ mph and its a Cummins - What else really matters. I dont care if Dr. Performance is driving it himself.

I could never be positive with him becouse of who sponsers him. Any advertisement for dr p will just give him the abilty to take advantage of more people. Many newbees will see that name and know no better. Then look at the black eye diesel motersports will have. His money to have fun and race is coming from people like us being riped off.

exactly!!!

if anything this guy could hurt the diesel hotrod market. just think one of those 100,000 fans goes out and buys a dr p product only then to find out he got ripped off. that's not what i want for our sport.

as far as his times they are best best and i wish him well. his sponser on the other i hand i could do with out.

Thanks to some of you for the encouragement. This little fraternity of people are closed minded about change and what really brings people over to the side of diesel motor sports. I do not have any knowledge about the past, don’t care to know. I am not employed by anyone other then the fire department where I'm a lieutenant. The product that Dr. Performance produces currently is all that I am knowledgeable about. I assist the corporate engineers for Dr. Performance in running the dyno and evaluation the information in an objective manor, using Process Engineering to develop the best product out there. I've dyno everybody's product and know the positive and negatives aspects of every single product in the diesel world. I don't commit on others people's product when I can get out of it, but will correct people’s misconceptions about the product of the group of people that finance my race program. This company sends around 3000 performance modules out the door ever month. I know this first hand, as the shipping department is next to the race shop. This produce carries a unconditional 90 day satisfaction guarantee , or return if for a full refund , the little girl that process returns looks like she get maybe 1 or 2 a week, somebody is liking this product. I have a lot of experience in the professional race world, both driving and crewing having crewed for two fuel funny car teams, one top fuel team also a pro stock team. In addition I raced competition eliminator for 5 years finishing 6th in div 4 in 2000. I do know how to put a sponsorship deal together and this is the goal I’m chasing now with this diesel. I am confident that with 4 other pro cars like mine now around, that we together could become the next big thing. I have also worked with the development of the G. M. PERFORMANCE trailblazer inline 6 race programs.

I say all this not to brag but to lay my credentials out on the table, for all to see, hoping that the intelligent people , I know are here, will recognize the great thing I want to do for our sport and everyone will benefit form my efforts. I am the real, and very dedicated to what ever project I choose to pursue

I usual achieve my goals, not just because of my efforts, but from the collaboration of a group of the best individuals in the racing world I am able to call on.

Here I am with a project a few years back where we won best engineered at the NHRA National event in Dallas. Starting from the left is Randy McMahon owner of RPM performance and the creator of the AUTOMETER data logger, next is me, then the head of NHRA’s competition dept, then Al Weiss former crew chief of eddy hills top fuel car, then Warren Johnson next Stan & Mat Thomas and on the right is the director of G. M. RACING Harry Turner.

wow this is really heated i am fairly new at the tdr and diesel scene and i have heard several horror stories about dr. p. What i dont understand is why push so hard to go into NHRA there is already the DHRA, the only reason i see to get into the NHRA is because that is where all the money and sponsors are really at. second after conforming to NHRA's specs for diesels you still have to comply with the race tracks. my boss is the owner of the texas motorplex in ennis and he unfortuanatly does not really support the diesel class why, i am not sure. i am not really sure where where i was going with this but anyway. while i do not agree with your posts in other forums COMP461 i wish you luck in achiving your goal.

and maybe not buy you product ,

every one this is the nonproductive crap I keep getting ,'my stuffs is better then your stuff" jealousy is the underlining goal, this is all this is about Dr. performance is a good size corporate entity now, and Maybe it that the product is cutting in to there market.

I love anything that blows black smoke and goes fast, so your truck is included. I applaud you for spending lots of $$ to promote diesel motorsports. What I question is your motives for coming on the TDR and saying you are the fastest diesel in the world. Your quote from from above

Dr. performance is a good size corporate entity now, and Maybe it that the product is cutting in to there market.

says it all. I think maybe Edge is cutting into your big sponsers pocktet book and you are here to do some promotion. Either way I don't really care.

I wish you luck and hope you do advance the diesel cause in motorspots, but remember the golden rule of drag racing... . There is always someone faster than you.

I do Have one question, Or comment i guess, You do NOT have the worlds fastest Diesel truck! That belongs to the Banks sidewinder at 217. 314 MPH. take it for what it's worth. and the cummins dragster is running 8. 75's so you are neither the quickest nor the fastest Diesel out there.

Scott

COMP,

I don't know much about you or Dr. Performance but I think the truck is pretty cool. It looks like you are breaking new ground that I have not seen anyone go this deep. Bring that beast up here next year to the Cummins Truck Fest and see what she'll do at 6000 feet.

I wish you the best of luck.

He stated that he was the QUICKEST diesel truck, not the fastest.

Greg,

Your over hear bugging the TDR now? Geesh! Glad to hear you are quicker than Doring finally by . 06 of a second. That old worn out Detroit has been the quickest I have known for the longest time at 9. 27.

I don't understand why you want to talk so much, if you have this great piece of machinery, go race it and let the members brag about it. Oh yea, you want to race with the spark plugs, and they aren't doing any bragging for you. Well, that is what the DHRA is all about my friend, with the NHRA you are a feature and with the DHRA you are the show. Don't say that you don't want to be the show, we know better. Why be a racer if you don't want to be the best, right?

What you keep ignoring is that the DHRA is born from mother NHRA, it was they that walked me throught the process of becoming their Approved Sanctioning Organization. This organization is only two years old and growing tremendously, thanks to the support of the diesel industry, the members, fans and NHRA/IHRA. We have some major changes for 2005 that will be in a press release in a month. We are planning some great races for 2005, I hope to see you at them racing Barry's truck.

Last I heard, the official word is that NHRA are not planning any diesel classes for the next year or three.

I'm sure you would like to keep it that way. Wanting everything to stay DHRA. I converse daily with a few forward thinking guys at NHRA. They get a kick out of the people campaigning against moving faster to bring diesels classes in super stock, and these are diesel people. NHRA’s concern is to get a consensus on a set of rules that will be encompassing a broad spectrum of diesel people. It is my perception that some of these people want to keep diesels in their little camp and not in the larger arena. This is not my first rodeo. I petition NHRA a few years back to get F/EA a 4-valve inline 6 motor in, in 2 month it was a done deal. . A few people on here know my tenacity, and down right ability to get things done. Politics are in my blood, having been a president of a large local union for a few years has given me the ability to be tactfully confrontational. I will bug beg and down right pester to get thing rolling. I do this looking at getting a few classes that are beneficial to everybody. Not just myself. This is a call to action, if you want to run in a larger arena call and let you voice be heard.

Your lack of diesel industry enthusiasm is showing Greg, oops. We (the diesel fanatics) have plenty of experience in having others (tractor fanatics, sparkys) include us in their so-called "larger arenas". We get treated like a feature at best, and usually in pulling with tractor associations, it's much worse.

As a politician, I'm sure you are aware of category, niche, and sub-niches; where do you think the automotive industry views the aftermarket diesel industry in the ranks? I find it somewhat repulsive that you insinuate the DHRA is retarding the growth in this industry. When in fact we are working with SEMA, NHRA, SFI and others to bring the market to the fore front. We are also working for all of the diesel aftermarket manufacturers to grow. Their combined growth brings financial strength to the industry and that gets the attention of the automotive politicians.

Keep your eyes out for "the diesel guys" at DHRA because we are charging forward with growth and like you have said before "lead, follow, or get out of the way. "
