It don't know if these three can be topped:

1. ) A thigh cramp in your calf muscle while lying in bad :D

2. ) Jumping into a swimmng pool flat on your back (like the old Nestea commercial) SLAP! :D

3. ) An "Ice Cream" headache :D ( IMO, The Worst pain on my list)

NOTE: I tried to delete the smiley face #ad

thread icon after I read some of the posts. Not sure how to do it. Some of the post's deal with a serious injury, and are nothing to laugh at.

My mistake

Ankle sprained

PAIN yes it was PAINFUL took a year to stop feeling real bad ever day. still have shoulder problems and pelvis hurts on long walks/Runs

Only real consolation was the fact the CAB was totaled and was towed from the scene

I was 6-4 and 245 and benched 440lbs and squated 560lbs at the time. I am 225 now and half as strong... really worried about my old age how its gonna feel

You are correct. Morphene -Vs- kidney stones. Stones win.

Problem wasnt so much peeing them out, it was when theyre in the uretur (sp?). WOW excruciating pain!!

Picture a broken glass bottle going through your urine tract.

Bit on my toe by a Black Widow spider. I barely felt it bite, thought I had a pebble in my boot, but within a half hour all my muscles were cramping and my whole body felt like it was on fire. Pain lasted three days. Don't put on shoes barefoot without checking first, this is how 90% of widow bites happen. Anti-venom is available but is more dangerous than the bite, I decided to just ride it out, by far the worst three days of my life.

When the hamstring cramps up its alot more painful in my opinion. I got woke up a few times in the middle of the night with hamstring cramping back when I played football. Only happened 4 tims I can remeber, but I remember it enough to know it hurt like hell.

CGoyette,

That must have been a nightmare. I tried to delete the smiley face #ad

thread icon after I read your post. Not sure how to do it. Yours and others and not funny post's to laugh at. To bench 440 lbs takes an incredibly strong man. I tried 300 lbs back in High school. I thought the bar was going to crush my breast bone. Couldn't get it off my chest. I had too roll it off of me :D 300 lbs is VERY HEAVY, I couldn't imagine 440. :)

Kat,

You are right, a thigh cramp IS more painful than a calf cramp. I edited my original post.

I can't compete with kidney stones or Cgoyette's multi injuries, but had an interesting one a few years ago. Walked down our drive (about 1000' from the house) to get the mail and paper, and was confronted by a large and very agressive rotwieler. He was snarling and jumping up towards my face as I waived my western straw hat at him and yelling at him. I had nothing to use as a weapon, but I did have fairly heavy boots on.

I decided I was going to have to fight him and wanted to get a good lick in first, so next time he jumped up I set out to kick him a hard as I could and in the process save his owner the cost of neutering him; well, I won the battle in that he let out a great yelp and ran away, but he could have eaten me and I would not have been able to resist. I tore the big muscle in the front of my thigh completly loose at the lower end---it just rolled up in a ball in my upper thigh. I thought I would never get back up that 1000' of up hill to the house.

Pain,EH??

I can now think of two I'll never forget,,first one was when I was a newbie to the trucking industry and running a flatbed,,Out in western Texas, unloading a load of hardwood I brought down from the great white north(Canada) I was untarping or should I say trying to as a rather large Texas style storm started a rollin in,,Me,being the young fool I was thought I could get untarped before all the ruckus got going,,Well needless to say, take one rather large tarp, through in some big winds and thunder booming add one 22 yr old fool,IT gives a new meaning to taking flight,,Man at yard after the flight(with no plane ticket I might add) had the nerve to say and I'll never forget this"I didn't think a man your size could fly that far",,Needless to say, nothing broke but my ego and a new found respect for thunderstorms in Texas,,Second one was four years ago when as I was leaving out for my designated run at work,I got turned around at the gate for a supposed paperwork snafu,,Upon arrival back to dispatch,I realized my boss snuck in and if he was in at that time it was not good,,After a call to the office I was told that my father, best friend and all time hunting buddy, had passed,,I do not think that ANY pain in life is a far greater pain to deal with than losing a loved one,,All the others are second fiddle to me... .....

The first time I tried water skiing, I fell down and somehow the rope got wrapped around my neck and right leg. It pulled me into a 'cannon ball'. The people in the boat said they got thrown out of their seats when the rope tightened! I think that was a tie with the time I fell off the back of an IHC M tractor when I was about 8. I went down head first, backwards, and hit my back on the PTO guard and my head on the drawbar at the same time. I was out for an hour. I,ve known people who had kidney stones and I don't think I want to find out about them! Craig

Did the Kidney stones twice and all 4 wisdom teeth at once and the wisdom teeth were a lot worse than the stones but I sure dont want to get hit by a car thats really bad.

I was in High School on the Basketball team. During a game I jumped to block a shot. The guy faked and tried to go under my legs with the ball. I landed on the ball with my left foot and twisted my ankle so bad that the first thing to touch the floor was the round bone on the side of my ankle. THe pain was so bad I thought that I was gonna pass out. The doctor told me that it would've felt less painful if my ankle would've just snapped instead of just tearing the ligaments.

I thought that the throbbing pain that I was going through with my badly twisted ankle was the worst pain that I could ever endure until later that night I was about to find out how much pain my mind could endure that night.

I don't know what I was dreaming about nor do I care. Whatever the dream was about made me stick my sprained ankle underneath the foot board on my bed. Then for some reason with my sprained ankle wedged in there, I abruptly turned over on my stomach with my sprained foot still under the foot board. I woke up for a brief second and the pain was so intense, I past out. My mother heard my scream of pain and when I awoke, I found her cleaning up my vomit out of the bed.

It still makes me sick on my stomach just thinking about it.

Some of you guys have experienced worse than I, but my last bout with a herniated disk beat the heck out of the shattered ankle I had seventeen years ago.

Broken bone pains can be deadened with drugs, but I found that none of the drugs that I took for the pinched nerve, in my back, did anything for the pain I felt (or perceived) in my leg.

I guesss I tolerate pain fairly well because when I busted my ankle, the doctor in emergency kept slapping my foot and telling me he'd wrap up the sprain as soon as he looked at the xrays. It took three screws to put my ankle back together.

I had bad stomach pains when I was thirteen. They happened off and on for over a year and the doctors thought I was nuts, that the pain wasn't real. I finally had the mother of all pains, while I was chasing gramps cows in for their milking. I nearly passed out and had to crawl a mile back to the house. The folks sent me to bed, thinking I was faking it to get out of work. For three days I laid in a fetal position, in bed, before they decided to take me to the hospital. My appendix had ruptured and they discovered that it was located on my left side, rather than the normal right, which I guess explained why I had the pains before but wasn't properly diagnosed.

I hope it never happens to me, but I think serious burns would be number one in the pain department.

Seeing a guy get his nut sack tore open on barbed wire during boot camp, leaving one of his testicals behind... just seeing it was the most painful thing I ever did, and I am the guy who has been in a helicopter accident and had a run in with a chainsaw that left me with over 30 stitches to the knee and saw teeth marks on my knee cap!

Anyone had cortisone injections in the elbow or foot ? I take pain pretty well, have endured 11 different surgeries in my lifetime without complaint, but I HATE needles ! Thankfully, such an injection is not a long-lasting pain. I can't imagine getting hit by a car, don't even want to picture that...

My worst pain in memory (unfortunately) was while hiking in Colorado. I slipped and my arm was caught in some rope, which resulted in a severe posterior shoulder dislocation. It was so bad that it ended up tearing the muscle and cartilige. Worst part was in was so swolen nobody who was there could help get it back, and was pretty messed up anyway. The really worst part is we were some 7 hours (by hike and then 4 wheel drive) from the nearest medical clinic. I passed out would regain then puke then pass out again. Lots of fun.
