I checked Dodges web site and on their site you cannot build a 6. 7L Auto truck with the 3. 73 or a G56 truck with the 4. 10 so maybe there is a problem with their web page.

Well, what I was doing was doing the "search new inventory" page. You put in your zip code, or any zip code and it gives you all the dealers within about a 200 mile range. When I search the new inventories of these dealers, I can view the window stickers of every truck. Every truck starts out as a 4. 10 engine, but is counter manded by optional equipment such as when a dealer orders it with a 3. 73 rear end.

This is why I made the statement about not being able to find a 6. 7 auto with a 4. 10 rear end. I did find a couple in Arizona, but I won't be in that area until November. They will probably be long gone by then. I intend to test drive a standard transmission truck from my area this week so I can see if I can live with it or not.

I have been told by Dave Smith Motors in Idaho that whatever truck I want can be ordered. It would take 6 to 8 weeks.

I think getting the 6. 7L with the 4. 10s is the way to go. With the poor fuel economy of the 6. 7L, the 4. 10s cant' hurt much and might even help with passive regeneration. If I was ordering, that's what I would get. The 4. 10s still have a higher top end than my NV5600 with 3. 73s, and I'm getting 20+ MPG all the time (empty).

Joezilla,

There's a dealer in MD that has 21 left over 07 3500's. Some of them have 4. 10's in them. It's Sturgill Dodge in Conowingo MD.

I bought a december,'06 build 5. 9 truck with the late G56. It has the same ratio 6th as the G56 behind the 6. 7. With the 3. 73 gears it runs 65mph at 2,000rpm with stock tires. This is with speedo correction checked against a GPS.
I personally wouldn't want any lower gearing. If I can keep at 2k and under, I get my best MPG. My $0. 02

Ok guys, I test drove either a 3. 73 or 4. 10 last night, dealer wasn't sure which it was for some reason but it was too steep for me. They are going to bring in a 3. 42 for me to try. I think with the 6 speeds the 3. 42 will be a very nice combination.

I found a tire size/rear axel ratio calculator and with a 3. 42 you are running 75. 86mph at 2,000rpm. That is correct if DODGE is running the same 6th ratio, . 742 and the tires are 265-70-17

I'm not sure about Dodge's 6th ratio, but the tires on my paper invoice "potential truck" are that size, 265-70-17. Using your above numbers, I guess that would mean that 65MPH would be right around 1700RPM, I'm thinking that should be real nice. Thanks for the added information, it's much appreciated.
