For some silly reason, I cannot see spending $600. 00 on a fuel pump whose sole claim is an additional 50 HP. Not that I wouldn't be enticed to buy one and use it on track days mind you
As mentioned in another post we have been looking into the fuel delivery issue for quite some time now. Different Holly pumps, and others that I cannot think of were tried. Unfortunately, their longevity just did not make the grade.
The relocated stock pump is doing very nicely for most but, it still lacks the performance needed to go down the track and its reliability is inconsistent.
The PE4200 seemed to be the answer until a great many failures, mostly leaks, plagued this product and then when the manufacturer pulled the two-year warranty for future purchasers that took the wind out of my sails.
Now, on the forefront of fuel utopia is the FASS and the Fuel Preporator. Ah, a two year warranty (specifics yet to be disclosed for either system), better fuel economy, fuel to the engine under virtually all operating conditions, Improved throttle response and derivability, Smoother idle and quieter engine, more horsepower, ya da, ya da, ya da...
It all sounds so grand and yet I have not seen any hard data on longevity, horsepower comparisons (where's the DYNO sheet for the Furd?), fleet usage statistics, production numbers, warranty claims, etc. etc, etc…
You see, I am trying to look at the bigger picture here.
We need a pump that will survive not only the mildly bombed, but also the fully bombed.
We need a system that is proven for our application and a manufacturer that is willing to stand by their product.
So, who is going to belly up to the bar? Charlie? Brad? Someone else
