I really don't care if I get increased HP or not. I have all the bombing that I need. And am happy with the performance I'm getting out of my truck.

I bought the FASS for the peace of mine that I'm going to have fuel pressure and I won't be left on the side of the road dead in the water because of a bad lift pump.

I don't have to worry about this cheap pump that is on my truck. Had one pump go out at 15,000 and this one is due to go out anytime.

I bought mine for 2 reasons. ! My stock pump was dying for the third time in 45k : #2 I wanted more pressure than my pusher was pushing, I was running out of fuel at the end of the track

I talked to the maker of the FASS Fuel system,, who I am about to sign on with to become a dealer for (toot-toot), and he picked up something like 50HP on his truck. He is a Dodge/Cummins nut also, playin' with HP numbers up there around JetPilot.

I'm going to get one as soon as my LP's don't work anymore on my 24V.

If you take all the "yes" votes and half the "maybes",--there's almost 20,000 US Dollars in sales. All contingent on putting down some real 5. 9 dyno numbers. I know what I'd be doing if I were selling the thing.

12-valve ???

And what about on a 12-valve? If entrained air is so bad, surely it would help out there. And like I said, for +50 HP I'll put one it too.

There's two sales under one "yes" vote. Oo.

Just got my Fass installed this weekend. This is one strong looking unit. First thing I noticed is that it comes with all grade 8 bolts. Not the cheap soft ones.

Intall was simple and straight forward. I have a flat bed and ended up intsalling the unit between the front bed skirt and tool box just behind the drivers cab. It was just a fit and is totally covered for the elements except at the bottom.

After the install I did have a little trouble getting the pump to prime. But after filling both filters with fuel, she took off and started pumping.

First off I noticed the engine was a lot smoother at idle. I have never heard my engine idle sooooo smooth.

Also my PS high idle has always idle at 1200 to 1250 RPM. Now it idles at 1400. I guess I have always need more pressure at my VP. I also noticed that when in 4th and really lugging the engine she does not want to jerk and jump around. She just lugs and keeps on building RPM.

I would recommend this unit to anyone that is tired of replacing the lift pump or wants the piece of mind of having a good pump.

Thanks Brad for the fine quality product that you are putting out.

Thought about doing that Brad, but I decided to fill the filters and let the fuel run down my hand, arm ,shoulder, and armpit while I was screwing it on and just go ahead and get it over with. Going to get fuel on me sometime or the other... LOL

Just had mechanic here at the Dodge house stop here at the shop and I was telling him about the FASS. I also told him how smooth it was at idle. We went out and cranked her up and he said he had never heard a Dodge diesel sound that smooth.

i got mine

I got my FASS sitting in the garage I am ready to install but I am trying to arrange a dyno session. . I want to dyno- install- dyno again. just to see..... I bought the system just for reliability thats all my lp went out at 19000 mi. The FASS system is NICE, looks well made I will post with results...

Yea I'd buy one. But the only way you can get a true comparison is if you test it back to back with another set up on the same day. Id really like to see some facts and figures by someone with a netrual opinion.

For some silly reason, I cannot see spending $600. 00 on a fuel pump whose sole claim is an additional 50 HP. Not that I wouldn't be enticed to buy one and use it on track days mind you ;)

As mentioned in another post we have been looking into the fuel delivery issue for quite some time now. Different Holly pumps, and others that I cannot think of were tried. Unfortunately, their longevity just did not make the grade.

The relocated stock pump is doing very nicely for most but, it still lacks the performance needed to go down the track and its reliability is inconsistent.

The PE4200 seemed to be the answer until a great many failures, mostly leaks, plagued this product and then when the manufacturer pulled the two-year warranty for future purchasers that took the wind out of my sails.

Now, on the forefront of fuel utopia is the FASS and the Fuel Preporator. Ah, a two year warranty (specifics yet to be disclosed for either system), better fuel economy, fuel to the engine under virtually all operating conditions, Improved throttle response and derivability, Smoother idle and quieter engine, more horsepower, ya da, ya da, ya da...

It all sounds so grand and yet I have not seen any hard data on longevity, horsepower comparisons (where's the DYNO sheet for the Furd?), fleet usage statistics, production numbers, warranty claims, etc. etc, etc…

You see, I am trying to look at the bigger picture here.

We need a pump that will survive not only the mildly bombed, but also the fully bombed.

We need a system that is proven for our application and a manufacturer that is willing to stand by their product.

So, who is going to belly up to the bar? Charlie? Brad? Someone else

tiny bubbles

Oh no, BigDaddy the HP is just a bonus. The claim is a pump that provides better starting, idling, running, filtration, fuel quality, and will never wear out. Big HP just kinda came up in conversation. ;)

We're a hard bunch to sell. Well, some of us. Thanks for taking some heat BigDaddy (and rooksy), I think I was beginning to look the bad guy.

I'm not the one that dripped dyno numbers in front of the TDR like honey in front of a bear.

I am quite happy with my fuel supply as it is now, but this HP thing got me to thinking. (danger)

Anyway, if Brad claimed 5-10 or 15 hp increase, I'd write that off to advertising puff n fluff. BUT FIFTY? Show me 35 and I'm still interested. At 600 bucks I have to see some proof. For $300, I'd just gamble on it and get one.

But Brad seems to be in no way interested in promoting a 5. 9 dyno run. If I had that many sales pending("yes" votes-not counting part of the "maybes") AND I really thought my product would perform---I'd have a truck on the dyno inside of a week. But I guess that's just me.

That's okay, we have two members going soon enough.

And I have discussed this with one of our vendors. He is skeptical.

Afterthought: And we're still waiting for the big numbers for the fuel turbulation system:

Somebody mentioned magnets and then there's that metal thing that swirls your intake air...

Don't get me wrong Brad and FASS users, I'm sure that the FASS delivers fuel properly--unlike those magic trick things, but so far the HP numbers are just as believable as their claims.

It always irks me that a manufacturer touts their product through either advertising (with no data) or data acquired from other applications.

That they expect us to put down our hard-earned dollars solely based upon their claims for longevity and performance.

Brad said, "we do have 2 dyno reports for the Powerstrokes The reason we have them for the Powerstrokes is that a distributor of ours is mainly into Powerstrokes. The first dyno was on a stock truck and the FASS System increase the horsepower by 46hp, the second truck had a 110hp chip on and we picked up 48 additional hp. The reason I tell you this is because I believe the FASS System give more horsepower to the Cummins over the Powerstroke. By just adding the FASS System to the Dodge Cummins we have seen a 2 - 5 psi increase in manifold pressure, 200 - 300 more rpm's and a reduction in EGT's of 50 - over 200 degree's. "

Well, where are the DYNO sheets? Most importantly, where is your data that shows consistent results?

BTW, do not give me this one or two vehicle crap, either. That is not true data.

It has been quoted here before and I wish to quote it again, "anything without data is merely an opinion".

I think that the FASS fuel system is great. I installed 2 kits on 2 different Cummins trucks. They work great. I never heard anything about a hp increase. I bought this kit after both cummins trucks lost their vp 44's. From what I heard, this system is supposed to keep fuel pressure up. It does. I would much rather spend $600 on a fuel system that keeps fuel pressure at 15psi on WOT rather than 5psi WOT, rather than $1800 on injector pump each time. Big difference. I think that the system is great.

dyno /fass

Well like I wrote in another fass post. I got the fass because of the stock hunk of cr-- p that was shot at 19000 mi. I put high flow banjos, ran MMO in my fuel ect. its not any of that affects the stock Lp- its the guts windings, bushings what ever who cares DODGE doesnt care. so the remedy- buy a ford or chevy. or run what you like and have. then spend however much on other pumps, lines, banjos ect or buy a fass. The $$ difference is not that much. I can tell from havinghot rod boats and cars that this FASS SYSTEM WILL LAST LONGER THAN THE STOCK LP. I do not want to get stuck on the side of the road some where changing another stock lp for another. A guy can alway seal off the stock LP lines or plumb in in a way to utilize it in case the fass fails. I talked with a diesel performance shop today re; dyno. he agreed to dyno my truck, let me install the FASS system at his shop that day and then re-dyno my truck. I will share these figures. I will be neutral because I do not care if the Fass adds HP or not.
