I have never used a torque wrench on my stock air horn..... I can snap a bolt off before cracking the housing. [/QUOT The Banks housing is hollow in the areas where the stock housing is solid. In an attempt to reduce restrictions in the air flow. A little common sense is called for,When tightening down a hollow aluminum housing.

Before you folks trash Bank's reputation,questions need to be asked,like, did you use a torque wrench when you installed it. If you did what did you torque it to. You could have cracked it when you put it on. Not saying I use a torque wrench on every bolt,but if I don't, and I strip or break something, not being carefull, I accept the consequenceses.

Ok, I can agree with you on the Torque wrench to an extent, but thats not the discussion here. If the Toque Wrench was, the wonderful customer service agent would have mentioned it. See, the discussion here is about Banks severe LACK of customer service. Once the have your money, they really don't care. And they ask you to talk to the seller, yet Banks has completely cut us Dealers out of the loop all together. Its a nightmare for me to order in Banks parts. They treat us dealers as poorly as they treated this customer.



Bottom line, very expensive for the service and quality.

Man you are very lucky that broken piece stayed together and was held in place by the stud. If it had come apart that could have cost you a motor. I put a set of injectors in a truck for a guy a long while back and he had a high ram intake. After reinstalling that thing, i knew there would never be one on a vehicle i own.

what a POS!, use that useless thing for something else, and get a manifold that actually makes some power, the ats arc flow! very happy with my arc flow on my 12 valve. my $. 02

It was a Banks test, set up, operated, and judged by Banks to showcase their product, a very high-dollar product to boot! What did you think the results would be? That another product, for less money, would 'test' better than Banks' product? Fat Chance, if that had happened, we'd have never known it.



Banks is in business to sell this stuff, so a negative result would never be released to their target market..... US!

Right on! Believe me... . I was being very sarcastic. I have run Banks tuners & did my own comparisons. Besides... that was a Duramax they tested. I want to see a comparison of Edge Drag comp, Smarty, TST Comp, Quadzilla on the truck that we all drive... . DODGE! Maybe they can do some "Smoke N' mirrors" testing to make Gales products seem up to par. :-laf :-laf

You'd have to have 150hp injectors and a Smarty stacked with a Juice or Comp all maxed out to produce enough smoke for that, plus a really, REALLY BIG MIRROR!:-laf

Well seems like my POS is still in one piece after seven years. I'm not to thrilled with banks as after haveing a power pack installed it did not run right, after calling them, they just shoved me off and did not want to hear about it. Well It was a bad wire tap and now it does run good (for a banks) and with a smarty I am very happy with my truck. I hear that the EDGE or TST will give you alot more power, but hear in Maricopa County they are getting down on emissions. The banks without smarty passes with flying colours,

It seems like the banks works when it wants to but with smarty it's nice. All the hard parts are good (if you don't tighten to tight ) I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that has one that works.

Just switch to TST or Edge... . you can always put Smarty on half power to pass emissions.

Funny hting is when they talked about alot of black smoke. . I did not see alot in those videos... LOL



And trust me on this, I had an LBZ and if you put anything over the 12-hp setting on it the Allison will slip or go into a limp mode. . So less would equal more on that truck as far as ET'S.



I am ordering a CFM Intake for my 24v. . It looks good and has to flow more air...

Mine broken too......

I checked my Banks intake yesterday on my 03..... Yes..... same problem as the start of this post... broken... . Sooo Banks are you gonna fix these? They're just not made right as the nuts should have been on the top ,on the crown not down in a hole ,or much thickned beneath the recess hole . These failing can cost you an engine as the broken parts go right down inside... . I'm for TDR as I may never caught this weakness in these manifolds ... Bankssss where are you & gonna fix ??? ... ..... mean while I guess I'll put my old one back on.....
