I just got a new Dana 80 power lok diff off of Ebay and this morning I commenced the install. Went to my local truck parts company and had them pull off old carrier bearings and shims and put them on power lok. Got home put on ring gear and tone ring and slid into to housing and HUH?What the?It was loose side to side, like way loose. So I took it back out ,set them both side by side on floor and measured with straight edge and feeler gauges and the Power lok was 180thousanths narrower than the stocker!Wait a minute OK 2002 cummins gotsta have Dana 80 heck my 01 6spd did. Crawled under truck and  !#$%*its afriggin 70!Check around some resouces and unbenownst to me thats what its supposed to have. Ok i'm a looser now what?I'm getting old stuff put back together for now and am thinking locker. But what to do with this Power lok?DO any of you guys out there know if a 70 ring gear is supposed to bolt to a 80 carrier?Yes it also has 35 splines to my 32 but could this Power lok be for a 35 spline Dana 70?60? What am stuck with now?

auto's have the DANA 70 and manuals the DANA 80 as you found out the hard way---it's been said that a DETROIT locker from a DANA 70 will fit into a DANA 80 by just redrilling some holes, but since I never did it I'm not 100% sure what else may be needed--all I can say is good luck and hopefully someone with some more gear knowledge will chime in and help you out---chris
