Pulling the trigger on getting gauges for my 07. 5, but a little confused and need some help. So far, I have decided on the pod that mounts between the windshield and top center console display. Can't decide on a two or three pod mount. Here's why:

1. We all know the 01's had fuel pressure problems. So, i had FP, EGT, and Boost guages. With the 6. 7's, is this still an issue, or is this something that i should treat as a 'normal' part, and if it fails, it will fail way down the road? I mean, i used to carry an extra lift pump in the 01 just in case. Haven't read anything on here about that for the 6. 7's, but want to be sure.

2. Reading some stuff on here and at Geno's, i'm thinking of getting a 0-35 psi boost gauge. I don't plan on modding for power anytime soon (at least not until after the warranty expires), but if i have another issue with the DPF, its gone. Will a 0-35 still be ok if the DPF 'accidentally' on purpose falls off?

3. Same for EGT's. I plan on getting this gauge, and am looking at the 0 - 1600 one. I've read on Geno's and here where the 6. 7's burn hotter, with some temps getting 1300+. Will a 0-1600 work? I don't see an item with a higher temp range. And same as #2, if the DPF suddenly goes missing, will this affect EGT's on a 6. 7?

So, I think i'm sold on getting a boost and egt gauge (range depending on feedback provided by TDR members), but if I really don't need a fuel pressure gauge because of a non-existent crappy lift pump, does anyone recommend a nice to have third gauge? As for towing, we only use the truck for long trips (non-towing), and around home we pull a 5,000 boat and a trailer about the same weight. I do use it now and then to haul lumber, or like last week, a yard of gravel in the bed (1/2 yard at a time though. thought i was gonna blow the rear tires).

Thanks.

I thank you are on the way yes the 1600 is the one you want. I have the pillar for my gages! wish i had went with the 3 dash pod. Have to take your eyes off the road to read them. bad on mountains roads are hard to read at night. I dont like my dash light bright. GENO'S has the dash pod. ====Good luck

I have the A-pillar set up with three gages trans, EGT and Boost. I have the 0-60 boost, the 0-1600 EGT and the 0 to 280 trans gage. These are the Di-Pricol gauges with the white face almost factory looking. The wiring harness is wired into the dimmer switch which allows me to dim them at night when I dim the dash lights also.

You can do a search on here for several post on how to install the gauges for the 6. 7L, good luck.

Thanks to both for the input. I have to admit that I really didn't like the pillar mounted gauges on my 01 for the same reason, and it also seemed like it took away from some visibilty out the windshield. I like the dash mount, but kinda drawn to the pod that goes by the rear view mirror. Kinda gives it a stock, yet not stock, look to me for some reason.

As for the third gauge, i think I'll go with a temp gauge for the transmission and not worry about a fuel pressure gauge. Thanks again!

I have the ISOPRO 3 pod on the dash and lvoe it. I do

not have to take my eyes off the road. EGT, Boost 0-60 and,

transmission temp. My brother put his up by the console and wishes

he put his on the dash.

Love my truck except for fuel mileage.

I have the 3 gauge pod in above the rear view mirror. I don't like it there. I have to take my eyes off the road to read the gauges (transmission temp, boost, egt) and the pod doesn't fit well. I have Isspro gauges and the gauge housings are white plastic that bleed light through all the improper fitting pod gaps. It looked like sh**! I ended up using a metal bracket under the headliner screwed to the pod and to the light bracket under the headliner to keep the pod in place and then, all the gauge housings had to be painted black to prevent the light leaks through the gaps. Its ok now. I still don't like how it fits though.
I think after the problems I have with this pod, I'd do the dash pod or the A pillar pod. I like my grab handle though.
