Yokohama Geolander A/T + tires ????

Yokahama Geolander A/T+

I have the Yokahama Geolander A/T+ and they've been great tires. They have outlasted all previous tires that I've had on(most wore out after 20,000 miles. ) I currently have about 25,000 miles on them and expect to get 40,000 plus since there are about half tread now. Also, I've found them to be great in the snow and mud. It used to be that I couldn't go anywhere in 2wd when it snowed but now I only have to lock in 4wd if it snows about 4" or better. The only complaint I have is that there sidewalls aren't as tough as BFG's and if you offroad a lot that might be a problem. Let me know if you have any more questions.

JJW-ND, ask Piers. He had a new set on his truck when he went to Texas in Sept. They look nice. I'm thinking about them for the next set, which is becoming sooner than I thought.

I had a set on a Suburban 35x12. 50x15 and they did great. (have a cousin who works for Yokohama plant, so I get great deal) I then put a set on my Ram 265x75x16 they are doing good also. I wish I could have gotten load range E in my size, so

If you tow be sure to get E.

It sounds like the Yokohama's have good traction. What about ride how quite and smooth do they ride. It seems like getting a big heavy tire balanced to where it rides smooth is the hard part.

I've found the tires to ride quite smooth and fairly quiet almost like a strictly highway tire. They are much quieter than the old Goodyear Wrangler AT/S's which I could never keep balanced properly. I have the Yokama's mounted on the stock rims and I've had no trouble with balancing or abnormal wear. However, like BGDUMMY stated above I wish Yokahama would produce more sizes that have an "E" load rating. The current tires I have only have a "D" rating which is more than adequate for the occasional loads of firewood and coal. I've also had no issues with these tires pulling about 6,000 to 8,000 pounds (BobCAT and cattle). Although, I would like to have that extra bit of security when carrying loads that a tire with an E rating would provide.
