Power Wagon says:

"That's right. Whiskey is only two bucks. We can buy a fifth for what you paid in the airport for one drink. "

Unless you Eastern Oregonians consider dark beer whiskey, you pay the same for a fifth as we western siders do. It's called the OLCC. :D

PW- from your list, Eastern Oregon sounds a whole lot like Texas! (We mebbe a tetch less liberal, though!)

You might be from the Pacific Northwest if your feet are webbed! (From my sister in Portland!)

You know your from the NW if, when it doesn't rain for 3 days, you hear people complaining that we need more rain. That always amazes me! I'll be in a checkout line or whatever, making small talk about what a nice day it is, and that's what they'll say! Are people here allergic to sunshine or something??

Off topic, but...

I've found that the best way to get an ex-Californian to reveal their past is to wear an In-n-Out Burgers T-shirt. Those shirts are instant conversation starters. People say to me, "I remember In-n-Out! I grew up in Van Nuys! (or "West Covina", "Riverside", etc. )

I'm proud to say I was born-n-raised in Eugene, that is where I'll return. Parents, Oldest brother and Sister still live there, my younger Brother lives in Salem. I just hope there still will be room for me. After I get reacquainted with the state I may head to the Wallawa valley, main thing is a steady job. As to why I left, I had a family to support and the early Eighties weren't kind to fresh entries into the labor market, so it was off to the wild blue yonder. I really can't convey with words how much I miss my home state.

Trivia: What is the State Flower & Bird? and why is there so much water in Oregon? :)

I know the flower but...

not sure about the bird. The flower is the Oregon Grape and I think the bird might be one of the meadowlark family. Grade school's been a while ago.

DING DING DING... ... We have a winner, as far as I'm concerned just Living in Oregon is a winner!

Why is there so much water in Oregon, cause there is only one Drain... . Oregon that is.

Yuk, Yuk

PowerWagon... ... ... . I am a true blooded web-footed Oregonian..... Only been down here around Texas and "Lousyana" for about 4 years now... ..... Before that it was 4 years on Alaska. The other 21 years of my life was in Oregon. I had no idea this thread would get so much response. Good to know there are that many of y ou who still care about the good ole' Pacific Northwest. Take care all!!!!!!!

The cool ocean air moved in overnight and the temperatures will drop today in Western Oregon and Western Washington. Mainly into the 70's, much nicer.

There is also a chance of some showers over the Cascades and parts of Washington. Expect mostly sunny skies through the Inland Northwest today.

It will be a good weekend throughout the Northwest, with temperatures near normal.

:D Perfect!

I was born and raised in Albany NY - yes Albany OR is named after Alb. NY - and escaped to California. I was there 14 days when I decided that this is no place for a human being to live and raise a family. It took me 14 months to escape from what is now Komifornia to Portland OR. I've visited freinds and family back east and it "ain't fer me". I am a westerner at heart and I do love Eastern Oregon. When I retire - in a couple of years I will travel but plan on finding someplace in Eastern Oregon to call home. That 1 stoplight better not become 2 or I'm out of there too. :D

Happy trails

Bob:)

folks in Idaho aren't as liberal as we are in rural Oregon

I'd have to agree with this one. If we could find a way to pay for a fence around the state, I'd help put it up.
