Your Mileage on you Nitto Terra Grapplers?

I'm real close to ordering a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers 305/70R16's, I wish they came with RWL's. What kind of mileage do you have on yours and how many miles do you think you will get out of them? How are they on ice and snow? How about towing? Would you buy them again?

Hi Bob,



I've got 295/75R16's on but they're young yet with only some 5000 miles. So far they show no wear,work good in mud and wet, and went through black icing without a quiver. I should know more about ice and a little snow next month but they've got the feel of sticky tires.

I have a set, I only have 2000 miles but no wear so far, I have driven in 6 inches of snow and had no problem, I have also driven them on black ice and they did very well! So far I love them. Just a note, I don't have any weight in the back of my truck!

Well guys, I got them ordered! One of the reasons I decided on the Nitto's, besides your responses, was the 500 tread life rating, the highest rating. Even BFG did not have a high rating on their KO's

For winter tires I was shopping price pretty hard, but I didn't want to skimp on winter traction. I ended up with a set of Dunlop Radial Rover RV's. They have performed well in the snow, rain, and on dry pavement. They are not noisy at all and balanced out well. My only concern with the is they may not have great treadlife. I have 4k on mine and they still look new, but others have reported short treadlife with the Dunlops



I think next winter I will sip them. Not because I think they need it, but all I hear are good things about winter traction with sipped tires. I figure it can't hurt.

What kind of $$$ are we talking for these hogs? I like the way they look, but I have to watch the pennies.



Anybody running them on stock wheels? Any pics? I am going to be in the market next fall, so I am researching now. I like what Earthroamer had to say about the Goodyears in the last TDR, but I haven't looked any farther yet.



If you can't tell, I don't know jack about tires.

but a quick look shows me that the price has gone up since last Oct.



I don't see any wear at 6K + miles. They give great traction on ice, slush, and wet grass. They track straight and run pretty quiet on the street too.



I'm not running them on stock wheels but they'll work because the wheels are 16 x 8 - same as stock. I've got 2. 5" lift and the plow option springs. There was a little rub on the fender liner but all I had to do was bend the liner back about 1/2". Many users have reported no problems with bigger sizes than mine, so the rub was probably because of my non stock offset. .

I have the Nittos... . uuummmmm I'm down about 1/8-3/16" tread in the back with only 8000 miles on them... haven't rotated them yet, but I think the problem could be due to my driving habits



Fronts haven't worn anything measurable.

You must have got some sort of special deal. I bought mine last July from Discount Tire Online and I paid that for 285/75/16's. I was looking at the 295's but they were about $20 more per tire so I decided to save the $80 for other BOMBs

There was a sale and I was getting a package with wheels and tires mounted and balanced for our '97, so maybe the tire price in that scenario was reduced.

Cooker where can I get Dunlop Radial Rovers and what was the cost? I am thinking about putting on 315/70/17s
