Your spousal unit may not be a diesel head if...

Triumph Club & Parts

Speed bump, armadillo, a rock, chunk of tire, a dip in the road, and it is going to be expensive (never mind you won't know your air cleaner got plucked until it is too late, and it will get clogged with every imaginable type of road debris in one mile).

Neat concept, but it would seem to be inefficient. Loooong turbo lag as it pressurizes the entire 20 odd feet of tubing on both sides, too many places for something to spring a leak, risky.

I didn't bother to read the forum end of it yet.

Were it me, I would find a better place to mount it. The trunk is a good place to re-locate the battery windshield wash for more room. The OEM air cleaner is obviously gone also. Inter cooler in a new hood scoop...

IMHO. I am not a street racer, but common sense has to kick in sometime. I'll bet it sounds cool though.

Ok looks impressive, now have the guy run a windshield washer line to the turbo and fill the bottle with trans fluid and with the touch of the washer button he'll have a real smoke machine:rolleyes:

OK. I just read two pages of the forums. These guys and gals obviously know what they are doing (they would have to, right?) Maybe I am wrong but your turbo 3" or less from the pavement (2 grit belt sander) would seem to be THE WORST POSSIBLE PLACE to mount it. Not one comment about it.

Am I wrong in my thinking on my first post? Someone help me out here.

I'd love to see that red-hot turbo survive a visit with a cold rainpuddle. :) I've blown a few mufflers up that way. (not the diesel... . on my first truck-- f-150 with the 300.

sticks is right about the air cleaner too... . if that thing gets plucked off or damaged... . you're screwed and wont know it.

interesting idea though. :D thank god its not from us diesel guys.

ROFLMAO!!!

OK, I have to admit it, I could only read about 6 or 8 posts before I had to bail out. Sticks was half right on the laaaaaaaaaaaaaag that they will have, the other half is building the exhaust pressure against the turbine before the compressor does any work.

The next thing I noticed is that they are only talking about 5psi. It seems like nothing compared to our 40 psi BUT with proper timing, octane and turbo sizing (and a really big intercooler) they should be up around 8 or 9 psi.

Speaking of intercoolers and lag, a twin system with small turbos and an intercooler off a Ram (modified for a turbo feeding across 1/2 of it from each side) would probably get you in the ballpark.

I really like the air cleaner location, would you put yours in that location?

Ck this out

Jf24 read the link i have att. at the top of the post. has whole story on that Turd. . ps it's actualy on a 93 LT1 camaro. .
