whats the tire sizes you guys are running on a non lifted 3rd generation? and could you go up a size? short story long are 35's gonna fit on a stock 2500 crew cab srw?
DPurchase,
How do the 35" tires effect the speedo ?? Do you have automatic or manual trans ?? Is there a big power loss ?? stress on trans ?? Would a person have to add an Edge Juice or similar to compensate for loss of power, or is stock fine ???? I've got an 06' also, and am getting anxious to start triking it out!!
Randall
I have run stock 265/70s, 315/70s and 285/70s for me the 285s were the best balance between looks and load capacity and power, the 315s take too much power away when towing and they are not feel as solid as the 285s.
TAbbott... .
I Think that is a nice combination and would fit my application well. Who's tires are those? If you dont mind me asking what did the whole ball of wax set you back?
Jeff
315's will fit just fine on a non lifted 3rd gen on factory wheels, they will rub on the control arms even if lifted. (unless you spend $1500 on custom arms)
They will take more to get rolling and bringing them to a stop again. With an auto trans the mileage will drop, the jury is still out with a manual trans .
Bob
I agree too. I love my 315s but they are about an inch too wide for my taste and the stock wheels. Trouble is, if you go narrower, you also sacrifice the height, which I do not want to do. I would love a 285 or even a 295 in the 19. 5 combo. That would be perfect and I would also get the load rating I want that the 315s don't provide.
TAbbott, tell us more about those tires and wheels!
Kry226,
What kind of mileage do you get with 315's ?? Is your Trans stock, and if so, any problems ?? Do you have any sort of fueling enhancements to make up for loss of power with the bigger tires ??
Randall
Kyle,
Thanks for such a great response... . Just what I was looking for. I think since I have 3:73 gears, I might be better off sticking with 285's... ... ... but then again, maybe I should change gearing to 4:10, and go with the 315's. That's awesome to get mileage like that with big tires. Do you know how difficult it would be to change out to 4:10 gears ??
I too run Stanadyne Performance Formula in every tank..... it's good stuff !!!
