I'm really not sure exactly what the difference is, the 2010 compliant engine has a little more emissions stuff on it than the 2007 engine has. What it is for sure, someone else will have to chime in and explain that, I really don't know. What I do know is the cab and chassis model has a little different setup than the pickup model, 305 hp vs 350 hp for one thing, and a little less emissions control, again, I really don't know exactly what.

As far as Mexican high sulfur fuel, I wouldn't want to run it much, if at all. It would probably mess up the particulate filter.

Will it Run on Mexican (high sulfer) fuel?

In the least, it would probably go through re-gen much more often and the DPF would have to be replaced sooner.

transmission has been steller, jake brake also is to die for and with this new six speed auto its really great...

Minor technicality BUT our trucks have never had a Jake brake. We have had Jake exhaust brakes which function completely different and sound different. Also, on the 07. 5 the exhaust braking is a function of the turbocharger and not a jake exhaust brake. No longer is the braking function a Jake component that replaces the cast elbow on the outlet of the turbo.

It's fun to refer to the braking function as a jake brake, but the big rig guys will be quick to point out the difference. :)

I think it is when the oven in the particulate filter comes on and burns all the junk caught in the filter. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Don't worry about the new engine. I now have over 41,000 miles on my 6. 7 cab and chassis, it hasn't missed a beat. I'd really like to know how someone knows when they are having a regen, I don't anymore. At first I could tell because of the lack of the ULSD I would smoke quite a bit when it did it, since I have ULSD available, I don't ever know when it does it. I do pull a trailer all the time, but my temps very seldom go over 200 except on big hills with a heavy load. Again, my truck is a C&C with the 2007 compliant engine, not the pickup with the 2010 engine. Maybe there is a difference, I don't know.

EB;with 41,000 miles on your truck has the fuel milage improved at all?

The fuel mileage on my cab and chassis is averaging around 10 pulling the trailer and 15 to 16 just running the truck by itself, which doesn't happen very often. I pull at around 68 mph on average. You can get better mileage if you want to drive 65 or below, I've checked it, I just can't get comfortable driving at that speed, I just always seem to creep back up to around 68. The last week has been crazy, my mileage is now over 44,500 miles.

Wow it sounds like you must drive a lot and your milage is pretty good for an engine with a rope around its neck. Oo.
