Competition 1000 HP Common Rail?

Competition Schedule change for Indy!

Looking for some input on a good pulling tire to use this year. I have heard some say use the trxus m/t's while others say use the trxus sts's. Any input??

The truxus sts's seem to be a new comer and a very good all around tire for pulling, keep them off the street though. I know a few guys that run the bfg M/T, and then alot of guys like the BFG a/t. Depends on track. Mud track, you need bite, hard pack, you need contact area, with less bite.

Avoid mud terrains, they work good on about 1% of the tracks you will see.

BFG ATs were a good pulling tire about 20 years ago.

The Truxes have their place, but the MT Baja MTX have to be the most track versatile tire around. Don't get greedy and buy too big of tire..... I won alot of pulls with 285s. And saved a lot of parts.

MTX is a great tire. But be careful it has a mean side to it. IF you can't spin them every time make sure to adjust hitch and blocks accordingly... -

MTXs- good on mud, hard pack Indiana clay, limestone marble horsetrack, southern red clay, any and all, never found a track they didn't like.

Hmm

Coppess, Amos, Shinlaub, they all ran a BFG m/t. Tomac runs a BFG a/t,

So I guess tire opinions are like well you know, everybody has one.

Yea, and Brad Ingram ran a mud terrain this weekend and where did he end up?

Ive also seen Coppess get his only DHRA win last year with Truxes.

If Tomac ever hooked up with MTXs, there would be busted Bowtie all over the track.

Maybe those guys would do even better if they took old Sleddys advice on tires. ;)

I can only lead the horses to water, its up to them to drink it. :-laf

Yea I was concurring with you on the truxes tires having their place. Will you refund my money if I buy a set of the MTX's and don't like them???:-laf

I guess it is time to go price shoppin

I agree the BFG A/T's work alright on hard packed dry tracks. But when it comes to mud, or lose tracks you give up to much. I think it works for the Duramax because they come out easier than a manual. I am going to a 33' X 13. 5 sts truxus from a 315 BFG A/T for the reasons that Sleddy said.

A lot of guys don't like them, because it turns out they dont have the power they thought they had!!

I always wanted to try like a 22" tire on the back, short stiff sidewall, and a soft squishy 15 or 16" on the front. Never had the funds just to try it though.

Make sure you have the same circumference, if you try it.

Remember, its all in the sipes!!

Who took you sipe hunting?

I have some 22" in the back shed, think I could redrill them for a 8x6. 5?? :)

Throw on the silk shirt and presto show and shine look out. Are we talking about pulling?

I like a 315/75r16 Maxxis Buckshot Mudder, never let me down before. Runnin BFG M/Ts right now cause thats all i could get, havn't had the chance to pull with em
