Clutchless shifting?

It's interesting, this poll sat at ~11% for a very long time. Now that the fleet has aged, it's gradually climbed to ~17%.

My 03 was in the shop today. Dodge says I have 2 bad injectors but we should change them all. 170K on the truck. Dodge wanted 4500 bucks to put in Mopar rebuilts. I am picking up the truck in the morning and taking it to a local fuel injection shop. They said they could replace all 6 with rebuilt injectors for 2800. 00. Still hurts but a little less than the Dodge boys. I have been running the edge EZ at setting 3 for about 120,000 miles. Don't pull anything heavy but have learned my lesson. No more boxes for me.

Maybe a perfect time to have DON M rebuilt and add some FLUX 1 tips??

It would be actually less $$$ and way better HP / fun

You are probably right Tomeygun! I am sure I would have a lot more fun with it but I can't be down that long and need the reliability of stock. If I did that the transmission would be next to go. Besides the wife does not understand the need for more power us guys have. We both almost choked when the dealer said 4500 bucks!

ATS Injectors

Put ATS stage I, 50 hp injectors in. Getting 23+ mpg. Big boost in power but some extra smoke. Will add the FASS fuel pump to see if that helps with smoke/power.

I hear ya - I'm just thinking about $100 per for rebuilding, then $1000 for the fancy tips (only 40hp if you want) = $1600

Then at least you would have a tip that is better then stock...

Also have you found any sets of injectors used? I mean dang, $2800 is ouch, double ouch

gdk,. . you might consider some proactive thinking here. What caused the problem to begin with? You might note that many of the preceeding posts were by people NOT running an EZ but nonetheless they had the same problem. Hmmmm!! I would bet you will find that most having the problem didn't have a 2 or 3 micron filter. I believe, based on the available information on this subject that filtering is the primary cause. I'm sure running around on MAX pressure on the EZ didn't help your situation but the primary cause I believe to be filtration. Personally I have run everything under the sun since replacing my sticks and have had NO problem,. . but I also went to a 2 micron filter at the same time I went to the new sticks. Hope this helps you.

Yes, really. Sorry you don't seem to believe me, but I'll fondly think about you at the pump as I reduce Arab oil dependence. The computer mileage has been bouncing from 23. 1 to 23. 3. I have the 3. 83 rear end and single rear wheels- duallys cost more gas; more friction drag. Many people report 1 1/2 - 2 mpg increase with stage 1 injectors. A friend put stage 1 injectors in his 1998. 5 and a fueling box, with FASS, and on setting 1, which is supposed to be economy, he gets 5+ mpg. Really. Research it out.

If I put my EZ box on level 3 my over head will tell me 24 mpg, even with 4 rear tires. When I go the pump to fill up and divide my miles by how many gallons of fuel, the truth in my case is 18 mpg. That over head computer is only good for the outside temp and what direction you are going.

With out the EZ,the truck computer always was 1. 5 to 2 mpgs high.

You say "computer mileage", what does the good ol' pen and paper show? I'd have to see a tank of fuel go through there myeslf and see... coming to Vegas anytime soon?:-laf Are you running a box of any sort?

Please answer "yes" if you've had at least 1 injector replaced, "no" if you have not had any injectors replaced.

I was just curious what sort of injector failure rate we're seeing.

-Ryan :)

I hope I got a good one. My '05 has about 23,000 miles now and purrs like a kitten. At the end of August I pulled a fifth wheel weighing about 14. 5K to Yellowstone and back, a distance of about 2,000 miles. Other than a short in the trailer brakes (short in the brake magnet), she ran great. About 9. 0 MPG. Not great, but I was pulling pretty hard, and there were a few rocks to go over like Targee Pass.

My number 2 failed at 7000. Only dropped off at idle. It ran fin otherwise. I've got 17,000 on it now with mixed city highway driving and quite a bit of heavy towing. I've got another intermittent injector issue at idle. I had to diagnose the truck prior to bringing it in the second time. My dealer ended up giving me an injector and I put it in my self.

78,500 miles so far and no problems yet, knock on wood. I have been getting an intermitten problem since i put the smarty in. Gonna send off to II to get rebuilt when i get some extra money, just incase. Only failure i had so far was the water pump. Everything is ok so far but the engine has gotten a little noisier, I guess its finally broken in.

I had a Long Crank / Hard Start problem at 74,000 miles.

Diagnosis 1 bad injector bleeding down and not letting thr rail build pressure

replaced 1 injector.

A week later same problem replaced 5 more, 4,000+ miles later problem seems to be solved.
