I wanna make bio diesel... How do I do it... I have acess to cooking oil. . Is there any special oil I need to use??? I wanna build my own setup... I just need yalls opinion...
I would put some VERY small micron filters on your system/truck, I have seen the inside of CP3s and injectors that had run biodiesel, and it wasnt pretty

I have heard bad things about using bio diesel on the cp3... I think I will only run it in my 12 valve... Extra filters will definately be necessary... Thanks. .
I have a biodiesel processor in my garage that some friends and I made using a hot water heater and 2 55 gallon drums. You can see how to do this on the appleseed web site. They also have computer formulas to figure out dosing after titration. I have ran B100 alot in my 99 where I added a second filter before the stock filter. The first filter was 10 microns and the second was 7 microns. No problems. I have also run B100 in my 04 with only the stock filter. The trick is making sure the biodiesel is processed properly. You have to water wash and also have a drying tank. We also found that by increasing the mix time on the processor to one hour and using 22% methanol instead of 20% we got a much better reaction. A lot of problems with the filters went away after that.
Check out the BioPro line of products. I use a BioPro 380 to make 100-200 gallons a week. Never so much as a clogged filter in 2 years. These machines are a little expensive, but every bit worth it. They are industrial quality, super compact, and do everything in the same vessel. I purchased mine from Fusion Biodiesel He offers a TDR discount too.
You can also look at biofuelbasics.com or dieselsecret.com. Both companies offer a vegetable oil additive (catalyst) as well as either instructions for or the purchase of a "fueling station". I am seriously considering going with biofuelbasic as diesel around here is about $4. 30/gallon (California - go figure). I'm self-employed and need to be sure my '06 2500 RAM can handle it first.
