My exhaust brake has been slow to activate and slow to deactivate. I checked all my hoses and my vacume is fine. Do I need to take it apart and lube the valve? DWest

Boom shackalacka! My valve would decide to stick at the worst ever possible times. Winter, after a long downgrade to come off throttle and go uphill again and stuck shut with no pulloffLOL. Lubed the hell out of it wit silicone spray and pentrant (The orings on the little diverter valve shaft inside the vacuum switch were wet with ice and crud).

If cleaning the valve doesn't cure it you may n

have a worn vaccum cylinder. You would have to get a new one at $100 plus. . Mine has gone through two in 450,000 miles
