Engine cooling fan ELECTRIC CLUTCH ??

My 2004 lift pump cratered @74K and I did the key sequence to see the codes. One of them was P0483 cooling fan speed. Some where I caught wind that the fan clutch is electric --Am I nuts or is this correct ??

The clutch is electric, not real cheap either of course

no, someone said it was an electric clutch, and you said actually it was a variable viscious type fan... I don't understand

An electric clutch type fan would indicate on/off ..... in/out ... . I/O.



The variable speed viscous fan relys on varied resistance and varied speeds regarless of engine RPM depending on the cooling needs.
