Well for what it's worth, I traded in my 06 for a new 09 Laramie. Love the truck so far, purchased it from Doug Gray Dodge in Elk City, Okla. Best experience I've ever had purchasing a new vehicle of any kind. Randy was my salesman, absolutely no pressure whatsoever.

Talked to the Cummins tech there. Paul has been working on them for many years. He seems knowledgable enough, answered all of my questions, admitted there have been issues with the emissions systems, although they seem to be slowing down, at least in this area. He did say "drive it like I stole it" and leave the exhaust brake on all the time. I do that anyway because it works so well and I don't have to use service brakes as much. Turned on my high idle (auto trans) and enabled the daytime running lights without any fuss. Also said to do the initial fuel filter change at approx 3500 miles to get rid of any crap that might be in there from the factory. Cheap insurance as he put it.

I guess I'll see if this was a good move or bad decision as time goes by.

Duane

PS. My 06 dually QC Big Horn 4x4 automatic is sitting on their used lot. I left the TST, Mag Hytec diff and trans pan, and a couple other mods on it if anyone is in this area and is interested. Darn good truck with aprrox 32000 miles on it.

Hope you like yours as much as I like mine. 20K and only a couple of minor issues. Love the truck and ride, the power isn't bad either. Loaded fuel mileage could be better but it sure beats the heck out of my 96 V-10 Gasser. Empty it gets better mileage than my wifes Ranger with the small V-6.

i noticed on the dodge web site that the 09 trucks were 425 hp . is yours a 425 hp engine or is that a misprint on their web site ?

I honestly don't know. It doesn't say on the window sticker, just 6. 7L diesel. I'll see if I can find it anywhere on the truck. My seat of the pants-o-meter says probably not though. This truck accelerates about like my 06 did with the TST set on 1 or 2.
