LKuilder- with all due respect- are you sure these mirrors are the same type and manufacture??

They seem to be the correct mirrors from Kool Vue. Speedy Car Parts - Auto Parts and Accessories Catalog - and Speedy Car Parts - Auto Parts and Accessories Catalog - You have to search for it as a 1500 on there to see both the driver's and passenger side mirrors. It should be the same mirror though for our trucks. They have the power/heated towing mirrors there for $106. 40 and the manual towing mirrors for $67. 95.

The site is actually Speedy Car Parts - Audi parts BMW parts Honda parts Ford parts Chevy parts Dodge parts GMC parts Jaguar parts Mercedes parts Nissan parts Porsche parts Land Rover parts Saab parts Toyota parts Volvo parts Volkswagen parts VW parts I found it from a post earlier in this thread.

Don't know what the average price fokes are paying for the Kool-Vue Dodge tow mirror, electric/heated but speedycarparts.com has them for $106. 00 each.

I was mainly wondering if anyone has bought from this site before making sure its a good place because that is a great price and they seem to be the correct mirrors.

I called and they only seem to have the passenger mirrior in stock with a 3 to 4 week leed time on the drivers mirrior. Sure seems to be the correct mirrior but they don't have what we need.

Ordered a set from fenderworld a week ago. They charged my credit card but have not heard a word from them since. You can get one side or the other or as a set as I did and they also have the reinforcement plates, that is if you can get them to ship to you.

I went through this mess back in February! Go back a few pages to my post #107. Same story, I finally gave up when I got all my money refunded.

And the "can't get the driver side mirror" problem is how I ended up with 2 sets.

Now I'm back down to 1 set, the others sold today.

Christmas Money (or maybe electric fans)

I bought a set along with several friends, they are the kool-vue tow mirror. Regardless if you buy from speedy or carparts they all come from the same warehouse in ca. You won't beat the price.

I ended up ordering mine last Monday. Drove up to my parent's place in Ohio from here in Tennessee last week for the holiday and finally got tired of my cracked stock, standard mirrors and decided that I was going to finally break down and order my towing mirrors.

I went to the Speedy Car Parts - Audi parts BMW parts Honda parts Ford parts Chevy parts Dodge parts GMC parts Jaguar parts Mercedes parts Nissan parts Porsche parts Land Rover parts Saab parts Toyota parts Volvo parts Volkswagen parts VW parts site looking for the mirrors at $106 each and actually clicked on their online support/help chat thing and talked to one of their workers on there to make sure they had them in stock before I placed my order. He directed me to Auto Parts and Discount Truck Parts at Car Parts Wholesale.com They had both of the mirrors in stock. With shipping, tax, and everything it was $246. 52 for BOTH Kool-Vue power heated towing mirrors shipped to my door. I order them last Monday (11-24-2008) and Fed-Ex delivered them to me this past Saturday (11-29-2008).

Haven't had a chance to install them yet but I've got the mirrors and my extra brackets (since I'm converting from the standard mirrors) I picked up from my dealer and they're going on as soon as I get some free time in the shop.

Recieved mine yesterday after waiting two weeks. sure enough weather turns cold and snowy, will have to wait till this weekend to install. Sure look nice.

Do electric fans get us a gain in MPG's and if yes, how much?

Installed yesterday and what a difference. worth the wait. Rock solid at 65 mph and the convex mirror sure makes it a lot easier to see. no more blind spot. just be careful how the wires run, they are easy to pinch.

They are 166 apiece now. . :{

Got mine installed today, they fit pretty good except the mirror switch is hitting the stud and nut that holds the drivers mirror on. Also used the handy web site for the wiring that charlessmith put together sure made things easy !!!

Quick note if using the OEM Dodge mirrors for the conversion. There has been a change to the mirrors and they no longer will work for the conversion.

What has happened is that the original power mirrors that were an "AM" part number have been superseded by new mirrors with an "AO" part number. The new mirrors (AO) fit through the 09 model year as well as the 3rd gen trucks. However the bases from the 2nd gen non-power mirrors no longer will work with the new AO superseded part number mirrors. They look close but will not work. You can pick out the new style AO mirrors by the metal at the break away junction, if it is silver (unpainted) then it is an AO series, if it is black it is an AM series. You can really only see that metal junction if you pivot the break away.

I have gotten mirrors pulled from local dealerships with the old AM series to make my conversion work but you will have to work with your local parts man to make that happen.

Good Luck.

Can someone measure one from the door to the outside of the mirror in tow configuration? I have the CIPA add-on mirror that is too short and want to make sure these stick out further. Thanks
