Remind me again that all this work will be worth it in the end, because right now this truck looks like SH!^! Today I sanded the entire passenger side rocker to bare metal & coated with Picklex. Then I removed the hood, cowl cover, rad support & drivers side doors. I removed all the sill plates, weatherstripping & got the drivers side jamb ready to sand tomorrow. The truck looks like a parts truck now.
WELL, I'm sure you priced a "professional" paint job similar to what you're doing - probably what motivated you to do your own - but I'd bet one done as thoroughly as what you are doing would run about 7 grand or better, out the door.
Sure, your time is valuable too - but there's that "priceless" feeling of having done so detailed and beautiful a job yourself!![]()
Nice job! Keep the pics coming!
Really, Really nice work and a great color. thanks for keeping us advised and sharing your painting adventure with us. I'd love to paint my truck that color, your doing a really great job. Good Luck!
You should think about shaving the antenna and tailgate handle. My tailgate is perfect now that I have the handle and that plastic junk off of it.

Here is a shot of the inside of my tailgate. You can see the outline of the relocation kit which allows you to use the original handle. Not sure why the plate is so big but my body guy said it was very easy to use and a good quality kit.
Looks good, what type of rig are you using to spray?
