I don't know him, but I really like his truck... that thing is sweet! I copied his pic so for ideas on how I'm gonna build my bumper.

Nice day today. I got the last 2 doors in primer & ready for sanding, then the paint will fly... . on the jambs anyway. Then I'll be ready to hang the doors & get them adjusted/working properly. Then the cab, front clip will be ready for the next nice day.

Thought I would pass along a place where you can find trim panel retainers when you put it back together. These are the exact ones you need for you door panels. They have a whole bunch more to choose from if you need others.

There has been a change of plans!!!! I found rust on my inner bedsides which would need to have a new panel welded in to make it right. Today I called "The Chop Shop" & I ordered a solid rust free bed & a front passenger door [couldn't pass it up for the price he quoted me]. He is delivering the bed & door in 2 weeks. He said that since I'm a return customer & paying cash $1000 for both parts delivered from Georgia. Doing it right boys, doing it right!:-laf

Thanks man. I was gonna put the door on & I'm sure I could make the bed last 7-10 years. I figured that for the price he gave me on the parts, why not make it last 10-20 years instead.

If anyone needs rust free parts, I highly recommend "The chop shop". He said to send him some business & he will treat them right. Give him a call at 678-859-4605 & tell him that Jamie Lent sent you down. I bought doors from him & he delivered them to me at a meeting spot 40 min from my house for $350 complete LH front door. I couldn't find a blemish on that door. All parts are gauranteed rust free & he sends pics before leaving his shop

Quick question, ... Why, when you shot the jambs, you taped off the outside panel if you are going to have them the same color?. . Noticed that on other parts of your job...

Lookin good so far. . clean and paint that frame. . need to protect that too!!

Because if I were to shoot the outside, chances are it wouldn't match the next panel. When painting, you need to shoot the "butt" panels at one time. Any panel that meets up with other panels will show color difference. Metallics can change dramatically due to humidity & temperature. The frame will be cleaned up & coated, don't worry.

I'm removing all badging & stock trim.

Are you going to be painting the black tail light trim the same color as the truck like a sport? That would look slick and keep everything clean

what did you decide for your front grill. chrome, oem plastic chrome? just wondering. I have been meaning to call LMC I think they have a black molded plastic grill for non sport trucks. I'm getting tired of my painted over grill chipping.

I'm getting low on funds after replacing the bed & all fenders/doors. I am gonna put the chrome stuff on for now, then build custom bumpers this spring. Then I'll get a painted grille.

Got the rest of the frame done, up to the cab. I'll be doing the rest from my buddies pit after the truck is done. I applied Picklex to the entire frame, then I sprayed 4 coats of zero rust on. I also removed the fuel tank & got that cleaned up. I am gonna order 2 new shackles for my springs, they are rusted pretty bad.
