Anyone know how you test this???

This is a waste gate actuator solenoid off a 2005 5. 9 turbo. Does anyone know how you can test it to know if it is good? Can I just apply 12v to it or is there a certain resistance it should read? There is a picture at the bottom.

The label on the solenoid says "12VDC" You could also check it with a volt-ohm meter. Look for some resistance. If none thae I would assume it is bad.

Yeah, I seen the 12VDC on the label, just alittle hesitant to apply 12 volts. Do you know what it is suppost to do? Move in and out or... ... ... ?

It does not actuate the waste gate... ... ... ... It bypasses the boost signal (internal passage)that goes to the wastegate actuator. The grey with pink wire is a 10 amp fused ckt... ... ..... You should be fine applying 12 v to it. It is computor controlled on the ground side.

I put 12 volts to it... ... . I hear it clicking and can feel it moving something internally, so I think it is working fine.
