All I can say is WOW!! You got some mad skills there or some really deep pockets that's gonna be an awesome ride when you get her buttoned up.

Thanks for the comps! I work in oil refining (lube oils)... . Learned a great deal from my father over the years. Worked in a machine shop running cnc vert mill and was a sheetmetal fabricator in HVAC before that. After working on Jeeps for the last 20 years... I decided to go big!

Even though it was a day spent with the little woman... ... she went to the store and I ran into the garage and installed the clutch! ... .

Got the fith gear nut all torqued today... . hit her with 300ft/lbs and red locktite, cranked the set screws and peened the lip of the nut into the slot in the shaft. So we will see how this works out... if it comes loose then I'll put a torgue king shaft in it. Cast iron tail housing all buttoned up... .

Also got some work done on the lower coilover mounts.....

Back to the Clutc M/C...

Just got off graves this morning..... took a nap, had some lunch with the little woman, took her for a country ride on the Harley, came home and started working on that hydraulic clutch.

As suspected that firewall needed some reinforcement! I also found my peddle stroke to be too short for my liking. So I decided to pull the whole assembly out and build it as a stand alone solution and then bolt back to the firewall.

Picked up this little gem to help with some intake clearance for the primary turbo in my twin set up... .

This was one of the problems...

I have over 70K miles on mine with the AA setup at 400+ hp, frequent trailer pulling and several pulls on a sled. It is still holding.

any info on that remote filter setup?. . I've been thinking of doing something similar. That looks factory. . more info please!!. . any part #'s and price etc... where woould the second oil feed for the twins come from on there? looks like only one small outlet. .

Looks good!

I agree that the spud coupler could handle up around 500 HP, but when I consider 700 HP and the torque that goes with that..... well I just wasn't feeling it. When I spoke with the AA engineer about it and possible options, he certainly didn't disagree with my concern. I think 1300+ lb/ft of torque will ultimately be too much.

I'm having a custom spool piece made as we write and that will enable me to use the stock 29 spline coupler using a Ford NP205 case with Dodge NP205 internals.

:)

I don't think the firewall has the strength to hold it. I plated off of the m/c mount with 3/16 or 1/4" material.

:-laf Yep... . when I tested the original design out the whole firewall flexed! So the new set up should work out nice... . I'm even considering a third bushing for shaft support.

That is a Cummins part #3284170 and I think Cummins West quoted me $279 for the part... I did get it through a friend for that price including the tax and shipping. I'm going to look into using the amsoil remote filter bypass set up to complete it. As for another oil supply port... I'm looking at possibly adding a port by tapping into the supply port area. It looks like there are a couple of possible areas, but I have to verify that assumption first.

did cummins have a filter head that would work? . . i wonder if the cummins Fuel filter heads would work? . . would be nice to remote mount teh oil filters in a easy location to change and keep stuff clean, maybe add two filters etc.

Thanks

I don't know that answer, but I would be surprised if they didn't! Maybe a google search would turn something up.

I also have one of those remote Cummins filter set ups ( got it off an old engine core free :-laf ). When you use the oil cooler cover for the remote filter set up you could mount the remote head anywhere and you could use almost any head and oil filter combo. ( No a fuel filter head won't work ) Cummins (Fleetguard ) of course does make a remote head for the "B " engine. I have the p/ns at work . Today is a holiday in Canada. The one thing you will have to watch when using the Cummins remote head like that is make sure that you use the correct gasket to mount the head as there are several versions over the years. The correct Cummins gasket p/n for the remote cover is 3929792 which is the same one as 1st gens use. However if you are using a later block ( the "STORM block" - thats the one with the thread in block heater and the dual turbo drain holes ) like I am it is different that the stock one. Shadrach

Thanks for that bit of information! I will have to get that ordered...
