... and an amazing job it does.

2009 Challenger R/T, 5. 7 Hemi, 6 speed Tremec T6060 stick shift, 3. 92 rear diff, all the goodies: heated leather seats, sunroof, CD player/am-fm/satillite/bluetooth radio w/ voice activated & steering wheel mounted controls, 6 speakers w/ 274 watt amp, push button start, and a price tag that hurts every time I think about it.

Rides a little different than the truck... . Man is it fast. Bought it thursday and already have 637 miles on it..... It's weird to say that without adding "thousand" on the end. Now I can park the truck and give it the TLC it needs to get it back to pristine running order. And I can continue trying to squeeze every last pony I can get out of the thing without worrying about breaking it when I need to use it to get to work... . as soon as my wallet recovers of course... .

2nd pic was a random 1970 R/T Challenger 440 we found in a parking lot and parked next to.

Wow, nice! You could chase me in that anytime :)! Watch out though, I would probably want to drive. My dream car is the Hurst-Hemi version:

A girl driving my car is like a girl wearing my cowboy hat... you better look really good in it and don't ruin it... start with sitting still, and if I like what I see you can go for a ride.....

Not to be nosy - but with the shape of Chrysler and the auto industry in general, what sort of deal were you able to cut on something like that in relation to sticker price?

Beautiful and appealing car to an old hot-rodder like me - saw one at a dealership a few months back - left drool marks all around it... :-laf

Id guess they might have knocked some off, but he didnt steal it. Gotta remember the dealer bought it from Chrysler so they got their money for it, now the dealer needs to get theirs back out of it. Atleast thats how I figure it works...

Sweet looking ride though man. If I didnt need a truck, Id have one of those (althought a B5 Blue Classic) sitting here. Enjoy. And yes, Im jealous!!

These things are actually selling like crazy. Chrysler put a cap on the production of them, and limits all dealers to how many they can order. I'd walked out on two of them prior to buying this one because I didn't get the deal I wanted and they sold the next morning. For about 2 weeks after that I couldn't find a black r/t with a stick shift within 400 miles of here, and the dealer was looking like crazy for one for me to. The found one in Indiana and that dealer refused to give it up. They finally found this one in Illinois and after about 4 days of bargaining they got the dealer to give it up. You can see how you kinda lose bargaining power in this type of situation. Best I got was I plan to upgrade the stereo with the hard drive and I got them to knock $700 off the upgrade and free install when I go back and get it... . woo... .

Also I worked free oil changes for 3 years/36k into the deal, too.

If you want one of the cliche orange ones you might have a better chance of swinging a deal, considering all the dealers have at least one of them. Auto is easier to find also. I would imagine an SE wouldn't be too bad. If you wanna order one and wait 3-4 months you can get a better deal, too. Any other color, or stick shift, if the dealer knows how hard they are to find right now you're not going to swing much of a deal. That's alright, its worth it to have something that you don't see very often on the road.

What do you mean "random 70 R/T 440 in parking lot"? Those are normally not found in any mall parking lot. Or any parking lot!! :) :) Love those cars!! Better watch out! People are now ordering the new Camaros!!

And while its a good deal... I'd be changin my own oil in that car. No way I'd dump good ole Mopar conventional 5W in it! Mobil 1!! My friend has a Viper RTS coupe. The dealer used to change his oil until one day he took it home to find they spilled about a quart all over the entire engine. It absorbed into the magnesium valve covers and stained them. They were ruined and ugly. The dealer had to buy him new ones and they were not cheap by any means. Just sayin!

Again... very nice ride! Michelle wants one real bad. Its the only car I've ever heard her talk about... and keep talking about. She goes crazy every time we see one.

Sooooo... . whatcha' pay for it??

$37,635 + tax, title, license, yada yada. Worth every penny... I love the car. Already have 1000 some miles on it and today makes it a week since I bought it. Me and a buddy took it to highway 100 last saturday, a strip infamous for cruising and a little street racing. We parked in a lot full of cars, and I walked away from it for a few minutes to look at another car. When I came back there were hand prints on the hood leading off toward the fender. I was a little upset, until my buddy saw them and we realized that it looks like there was a girl posing bent over the hood of my car. Now I'm just upset I missed it...

As a side note, my buddy is borrowing my truck while he gets the death wobble fixed on his second gen gasser, and he used my truck to pull a full size quad axle dump truck out of the mud. The reputation of my Cummins continues to grow even when I'm not driving it...

If there selling so good maybe chrysler should make more and that would help solve there financial problem... . and they wonder y they are on the verge of bankruptcy. More miss managment and greed

You know, I thought of that, too. I'm sure there are all sorts of things working into that decision. Not the least of which probably has to do with the company wide fuel economy average. That would explain the abundance of SEs (along with the fact that a car that big should not be power by a V6).

I'm sure the novelty factor also plays in... I'd be upset if the thing was as common as the Mustang. Right now it turns heads, and I'm willing to pay a little premium for that. With all the issues with the UAW, selling more cars is fine, but selling cars for more will financially benifit them more. I'm not saying I agree, but thats buisness.

At any rate, I'm happy with the car.

I doubt they can sell Challengers as if they were Omni's or K-cars. Not everyone can afford one and they don't fit the need of typical owners... the masses. They are a specialty car. Like Harleys... eventually and soon... everyone that wants one will have one. Can't have lots full of Challengers. That would be irresponsible of them and costly.

I however prefer Challengers and Harleys! :)

You do know how many pristine 1st gens you coulda got for that $37k? :{

Oh, alright! The car is sweeet! :-laf

I want a convertible. yes you're right, lose the wheels. I think that it's ridiculous when you see a car with 24" wheels and more ground clearance than my truck just for the bling factor. Lame!
