Will running a 215 HP pump on 160 HP injectors damage anything? Pulled 160HP pump for rework on 94 2wd auto. I could put the 215 injectors in later, but I need to get this truck running now.

Shouldn't..... BUT... .

Heat will be an issue with those and a stock turbo. They will not give you 160hp to the ground on a stock p-pump either and it may seem a bit lean which could also cause some added heat... ... Andy

I doubt you will have any issues if they are in good shape. Small injectors should not add heat. It won't make a very good combination for drivability,

Lean and rich make no sense for a diesel. The fuel/air mixture varies all over the place from hardly any fuel at all at idle to excess fuel when you have black smoke.

I ordered +50hp injectors from dynamite diesel performance for 500. Piers had new stock 215s for 500 so I figured it was a warsh, probably overpaid, but my wife is hammering to get her truck back NOW.

I'm affraid the #5 stock 160 is plugged and caused damage to the stock pump, so I don't want to run the 913 on them and have it get damaged also. Additionally, the injectors out of the 98 doner may have 500K on them if their originals AND I have never heard that truck run so they may be worse off.

Can I get the 160s and 215s rebuilt for spare sets? Where? I here that the high milage injectors springs are good to tune rebuilt injectors because they have already yeilded as much as they will for the load range. I guess this implies they will remain more closely "balanced" than new injectors over time.
