I've been going to school at WTAMU in Canyon, Texas. Just got done with finals and was planning on heading home to Illinois to get the corn out (another story). When I started the truck it sounded like something caught funny, but I didn't think much about it. About half an hour later we went to take off, pushed in the clutch, it backed up about two feet and quit . Now there is a distinct noise from the bell housing at idle and it makes a hell of a noise when I push the clutch in for the first 5 inches. Any ideas?

The truck will move but only about 2 feet, then it stops. The G-56 doesn't look like fun without a lift... Thanks for the responses guys!

Can you shift the trans thru all gears? What do you mean "it stops"? does the rear axle lock up? Or does the engine rev like its in neutral. If the axle locks with the shifter in neutral... its G56 issues. If it just quits pulling like its in neutral, something in the bell housing went south... Good Luck. .

Wingate, it shifts through all the gears. I'm almost positive its not in the transmission. Seems like something in the bell housing as you stated. It'll move about a foot, and then act like its in neutral. It doesn't seems like the clutch is engaging all the way. Hopefully they will tear it apart today and see what kinda damage is done...
