Yeah. Now I feel almost guilty for not liking their coffee. I did try really hard to find a flavor I liked, but nothing beats possum-chewed Jamaican Blue Mountain!

A great convenience for folks coming in to rob the place, or for those that could
use a little extra leverage when they just don't feel like paying for an over priced
cup of joe.

YEP! Just think of all those patrons that carry and you dont even know it. They're just sittin' and enjoying their coffee drink and surely would allow some thug to rob the place without a confrontation. Whine on:{. GregH

They are trying to stay out of it, but I bet they will cave to the liberal gun haters, or at least allow the store manager to decide on the issue.

I am betting that gun haters that go to Starbucks far out number people who would go somewhere else if carried guns were banned from the stores.

Every Sunday I visit the local Starbucks around 7:30 AM on the way to church and 99% of the time there is 3 or 4 County Deputies having their break. I wonder what their reaction would be if I walked in there with a sidearm showing? Would be interesting to try.

That depends on where you live. If its in the big cities on either coast, I imagine that you better have a good lawyer. I will not open carry, in public, unless I am hunting, fishing or hiking. Even those situations are dependent on what I expect to encounter. However, I have been in a situation where I made contact with a law enforcement officer while carrying and there was no issue. Again, I do not live or recreate in the big cities and I understand their dilemma as well as the law enforcement concerns. I used to ride with them, when I was considering a L. E. Career. GregH

As a truck driver, I fear blackberries and cell phones and laptops in irresponsible hands. Does that mean they should be banned? And the last time I read it, they weren't even mentioned in the Constitution.

Around here, "concealed carry" means just that: C-O-N-C-E-A-L-E-D

You would never, ever know I was packin', bheiting, so you could sip your java in blissful ignorance and peace. The only time it breaks cover is when I am at the range or taking it off at home to still keep near at hand. With any luck, it will always be so.

But I AM prepared if my luck should go very bad thanks to a very bad guy with a weapon of his own.

Who knows, bheiting, I would possibly even consider using it to save your life if it were sincerely and wrongly put in peril while we sat innocently drinking our joe at Starbucks.

But that's a real lose-lose situation: The bad guy's relatives will sue because I did not let him kill someone, namely me, with his 9mm while trying to rob a coffee house; and any anti-gun fanatic who's life was also possibly saved would sue for whatever they thought they could just 'cause they seem to hate life in general and I ruined their chance to be a martyr for their cause. Whatever that is.

I don't think you would have that problem here in Texas. You and your gun(s) "come on down". :D

Maybe bheiting should read what happened at Luby's in Temple, Tx. a few years ago.

The four greatest things I used to like about Texas (I don't think they all survived the times): Open gun racks (no cases) in pickups. Open containers. No state income tax. And you don't have to wait and be a victim (shot first) to defend yourself. I'm pretty sure the first three are historical footnotes now.

+1 on that.....

Sorry, open containers are all but gone. As far as gun racks still leagal, still no state income tax.

And Starbuts still leaves a bad tastes in my mouth from their refusal to even acknowledge our troops in Iraq and Afganistan. They refused to ship anything to them donated/bought or otherwise. Because "We dont agree with the war in Iraq". Starbuts can kiss my*** .

Legal gun carrying Texan and proud of it... ... ... ... .

And if they would support our troops too

And Starbuts still leaves a bad tastes in my mouth from their refusal to even acknowledge our troops in Iraq and Afganistan. They refused to ship anything to them donated/bought or otherwise. Because "We dont agree with the war in Iraq". Starbuts can kiss my*** .

That is a giant urban legend, and if people would do their research, they could find out the truth before believing a bunch of BS.

Most of what is read and transmitted through those internet mass chain emails is false. Particularly the Starbucks refusing to ship coffee rumor.

America Supports You: Starbucks Employees Donate Coffee to Deployed Troops

Sorry to go off topic but these rumors that become truths bug the heck out of me. Cheers...
