My truck has started to put out quite a bit of white smoke under light throttle. It starts and idles fine. There is no white smoke at idle or at start-up. However, if you're trying to putt along at like 20mph, its like i'm driving a big red fog machine. If you give it a little more trottle, the smoke turns a darker hue and appears more normal. Any ideas? I know that most of the time, white smoke is indicative of a bad injector. However, if i have a bad injector, shouldn't it be producing the white smoke at start-up and at idle? This is my first diesel so i'm pretty unexperienced with this stuff. Any help is greatly appreciated!

what year is the truck? is there any mods done to it? tell us a little about it so we know what we are working with here...

Sorry about that. I updated my signature with the trucks info. I took out the smarty completely but the white smoke didn't get any better.

well i am not real familiar with the common rail stuff but i can tell you that white smoke is a lean condition. i think your injectors are electronic on that truck. maybe a weak or clogged injector, a weak power signal to the injector or an injection pump starting to go bad... Maybe someone that knows a little more about this injection set up might be able to help

could be lift pump issues also... .
