I've had edelbrock shocks for a long time. They have been awesome but one of my rears failed recently. Cannot find a part number for edelbrock that will work for a 2 inch lift, only a 3 inch. Has anyone tried the Bilsteins from Genos? If so, how do they compare? TIA for any input.

I can't help with the comparison to Edelbrock but I can say that the Bilsteins I purchased from Genos about 4 years ago have held up very well. They replace the OEMs. Most of my truck use is with a steel stock trailer in tow and often on some pretty rough Montana back roads. I would recommend the Bilsteins.

I've had a set of KYBs Gas-Ajust shocks on my '98 for nigh on 10 years (200K miles) now. They've barely loosened up. And KYB do make a stiffer performance shock for our trucks now.

We run the Bilsteins on our trucks. All but the 4x4 have service bodies and are loaded very heavy. They have held up well soo far (50k plus) and do ride better than others we have tried. The heavy duty Monroe's we used worked well, a lot less money, but only lasted about 20k miles then were shot--when they failed it was sudden and replacement was required right then

I run the KYB monomax, and have been very happy with them. Even with a snowplow on the front, they seem to handle the extra load just fine - nice and stiff.

651000 mi. Still work like new, replaced bushings at 500000mi. Called Bilstein, They sent new bushings no charge.
Good Luck Capt Phil

I''ve used Bilstines on several trucks, and never had a problem with their shocks, the Bilstine steering stabilizer I now have I'm not sure about, I'n not real happy with it. Geno's supplied all.

I have used Bilstein shocks as replacements on both of my prior Dodge duallies. The OEM shocks are usually worn out by 70k miles. The Bilsteins work as intended and seem to last forever.

I have a set from Genos to put on my cab and chassis soon.

... The OEM shocks are usually worn out by 70k miles. ...

In my experience, all OEM shocks are worn out when when they leave the factory. That's why I replaced mine at 15K miles; I could no longer tolerate the OEMs bouncing me all over the road. This was true on my '84 200SX, '87 Formula 350, '88 F150, and my '98 RAM 2500. OEM shocks are junk and go downhill from there.

OEMs are junk, because they are a twin tube design. Any mono-tube shock you pick will be a huge improvement. I too have Edlebrock shocks on my truck. I have over 110,000 miles on them. They are still in good shape. I would check with Edlebrock and see if the will honor there lifetime warranty. I plan to go to Bilsteins next time. Not because I am not happy with the Edlebrocks. They have been awesome. I would like to give the Bilsteins a try, just for a comparison. The Bilsteins I ran in circle track were very good. I would think their truck shocks would be just as good. Let us know how it turns out. Good luck.

Thank you everybody for your replys. With all of the recomendations for bilsteins,I went with them. They have been on for about a week and the ride is great. Thank you again for your help.

I have the Bilstein 5100 on for a year now they been great. But i think there shot because my front wheels are bouncing if i hit a bump on the high way at high speed over 75 mph. i have all new parts on the front end. ball joints, 09 up grad kit, so its got to be the shocks write or not
